Never come here if you care about service and definitely dont come here if you're from a place like NYC. Iykyk. Was waiting to be seated and had to go look for the waiter he then seats me asks If I want a water and then proceeds to not ask anything else since I was ready to order. I then have to proceed to the bar to ask what wines they have available and the bartender proceeds to be "himself" and pass the menu. I then ask what tequila he has and he proceeds to act like I'm giving him a hassle. You are the bartender. I'm sorry I forgot I was in midtown and I'm supposed to accept this attitude from certain people who feel they are allowed to give off this attitude while in an establishment they work in. I proceed to order my drink and I did not tip due to his poor attitude, horribly made drink, and no actual customer service. He proceeds to approach me and ask for the reasoning for this and I notified him and it didn't seem like he was satisfied with my answer. In this world that we live in ESPECIALLY AMERICA, some people seem to be fully entitled to automatic gratuity when doing a garbage job and then HOUND the patron to find a different reason as to why they received no tip. THE DRINK IS PAID FOR. U GAVE GARBAGE ATTITUDE. Also, this late night menu burger was absurdly a whole joke fries were pretty decent. Also why yall phone don't work? Seemed like there was a HUGE SENSE OF MIDTOWN ENTITLEMENT of those who worked there.
Update since owner has given their response. You are great with words and ensuring your restaurant maintains their business and covering their employees. However this calm and respectful deamonor u speak of about your bartender is a joke. Your server was moving way too fast for me to even ask if I want a drink not just SOME WATER. So since he walked after taking my order what am I supposed to do as your server sticks me right at the front of the restaurant as a solo patron. Yeah I'm gonna nod off because no one is attending to me. Read my other reviews to see i give a fair shot to everyone. Secondly let me correct my statement to say not all New Yorkers are the...
Read moreI'm not too sure what happened, but I didn't even get to the food. I walked in, knowing I needed to be seated and requested to be seated outside (to where I had locked up my bike). The hostess told me to sit anywhere and check in with one of the servers outside. I checked in and was assured a menu and water would come once I found my seat. I sat, and that same waitress served the table to put her back to me. Fast forward another 15 minutes, and another server came out to service his tables and take a second order of drinks, quickly whisking by me so as not to allow any contact. I waited an additional 10 minutes where the couple that sat and was provided menus decided to sit indoors.
An additional 5 minutes pass an a new server came out and acknowledged my existence to which she asked if I had been served. I stated no, and she said she would get a menu. Meanwhile, the empty table next to me had 2 ladies sit down and they were provided menus and drink orders were taken. They were provided a glass of wine and water and ordered a salad. It was when their food came I decided to leave and not patronize that location.
I USED to enjoy going to PDH because of its reasonably priced food and eclectic menu for a small downtown bar. After being treated the way I was, I doubt I will ever visit there again. Nobody should be seated (welcomed or not) for an hour without the simple offering of water and acknowledgement of existence. I gave the entire staff an opportunity, even under unusual circumstances, to redeem itself and this was an utter failure!
Older blond haired lady Younger black lady who served the adjacent table Heavier set gentleman who had tables deeper in the outdoor seating area And the younger white lady who was seemingly ready to serve me.
Y'all ought to be ashamed and retrained. Nobody should sit and watch service around them for as long as I did with no service! That...
Read moreLast night, three friends and I were seated outside the PDH at 6:15 PM. Our Uber driver had dropped us off in front of the Fox where were to see Bonnie Raitt at 8:00 PM. We had intentionally arrived early so we could dine somewhere local, and the very crowded PDH had much curb appeal, making our dining decision quick and easy. Our server told us she was new. No big deal. (Two of my daughters have been servers and I know how much they appreciated kind and understanding patrons.) She brought us our 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine, and waters. We ordered an appetizer, a burger, salmon, and 2 bratwurst specials. Our server checked on us from time to time, and we told her we were seeing a show that starts at 8 at the Fox. At 7:00 PM, we still had not gotten any food. Not even our appetizer. She assured us she had not forgotten us and would check on our food order. 7:15, still nothing, and we were running out of time. We were quite hungry as we had planned this date in advance and intentionally not eaten much all day in anticipation of a great dinner in the city. At 7:30, our server told us that our ticket had never been turned in-- and our food hadn't even begun to be made. Really?! We asked if she could just please bring us ANYTHING ---whatever was ready, we would eat it. She left and returned with some type of appetizer; I'm not sure what it was, but it was hot and delicious and we scarfed it down, paid for our drinks, and left. Here's what I think happened. I think the kitchen or wait staff was initiating/hazing our server-- because the ticket DID get turned in. We have no proof, but come on. Of course she turned it in! She was so embarrassed, and we felt bad for her. I will NEVER return to PDH and I will tell my friends about my experience. Really lousy way to start our night. But hey, Bonnie was fantastic and so was...
