Man if I could give 0 stars I would. Not one thing about this place was good, and they STOLE MY MONEY!
We are in town for a convention and decided to go here because they were supposed to have great food.
We come inside and no one acknowledges us. We look at take out menus waiting to see a person. After 5 full minutes, we finally walk up to the bar to ask if we can sit and someone directs us to a booth.
We sit down and it takes our waitress 9 minutes to come over to us. We order water and our food. We decide on 2 Philly cheese steaks, a fish sandwich, and an order of cheese sticks.
It took 34 minutes for our food to get to us... when it arrived, there were no cheese sticks and they had to put the order back in...
Every aspect of the food was terrible! The Philly cheese steaks were flavorless. The fish was wet and not crispy. The fries were completely undercooked and wet, the onion rings were full of grease. The ketchup bottles were half water. The food alone I'd give 0 out of 10 stars, but what happened next was what really upset me.
I finally got ahold of the waitress and asked for the check. She pulls up on her key pad our order and tells me it's $64. I pay with cash without thinking, and then immediately pull up the menu. I total my food and it only totals to around $49 before tax. So I know somethings not right.
She brings me my change with no receipt. Red Flag! I promptly ask for a receipt, she says she will get it. 10 minutes later, she finally brings me a receipt.
First off, she told me $64 when the total was actually $62.22. Second, she already had put an 18% gratuity on my bill!
So in short, I handed this woman a $100 bill for a $53.39 bill, and I only got back $36. She didn't give me the opportunity to tip her, (she dang sure wasn't worth 18% as we only saw her once after our order which she forgot something on), and she lied about the total even after putting her 18% tip on there.
That is theft.
The food was terrible. The service was nonexistent. The staff have no problem stealing from you.
When I confronted her about her adding the tip, she said, "I don't know what to tell you, it's a new system."
I was also told that the ownership recently changed. Well Owner, I hope you're reading this and you get your staff in line. Feel free to reach out if you want more...
Read moreAfter checking out the restaurants reviews, our group decided to have dinner at JR Crickets. I did also drop by physically in advance during the to make sure our large group would be able to be seated without reservations. The young lady spoke was fantastic and let me know it was first come first served. While there i noticed many people were getting takeout. Normally for me, this tells me that the food is good if people are willing to order and pickup. We were happy that we did but also unhappy at the same time unfortunately. Everyone did enjoy their meals and we did not experience any of the poor quality cooking that had been in some recent reviews. Everything was good, served piping hot and with a smile. With the large group, we basically were able to order a number of different items from the menu and no issues. My Philly Cheese Steak sandwich was served so fresh I needed a fork and knife to eat since it was hot. Very tasty as well. My only complaint about the menu is the prices. Most items are about $4 more than the menu posted online. We are traveling with students so arriving to see the difference in prices was not convenient. Our server Shaquita was very welcoming, had a great smile and was able to answer everyone's questions regarding the menu. The restaurant was getting busy and I feel our food was provided in an acceptable amount of time. Unfortunately the our groups other table cannot say the same. Another server was assigned to their table. We received our food and basically, their order had yet to be taken. The server/restaurant did provide the boys with a small order of fries for free for the mishap but of course it does not feel welcoming when others that arrived after us were getting their orders taken without issue. The restaurant is very safe at night with security guards provided. Would I come again, I'm not sure. Not with students on a budget but our server and the tasty food will definitely keep this restaurant in my mind...
Read moreBrought my Gf here for a late night dinner on a busy Friday night. Was told by the guard we had to either wait for a table to dine in or we had to order to-go. We ordered inside and waited 20 mins for our 2 order of wings. The food was brought to us at an island inside and we decided to just spend a few mins and eat inside and leave. I was standing and eating my meal and my gf had a chair when I was confronted by one of their employees (she was old, black and stocky) not sure what her name was but she rudely confronted us in such a disrespectful manner and shouted “y’all can’t eat in here”. Keep in mind we are the only white couples inside. I told her, “I asked one of the employees we were going to eat and dip and not stick around.” She kept arguing with me and telling me it’s against their policy to dine in once ordered to go. I get that, but why did she profile us and disrespectfully ask us to leave as if we didn’t belong and could not enjoy our meal in peace. I’ve lived in Atlanta for 30 years and I’ve never ever been racially discriminated like I did that night. I’m so disappointed at this restaurant because I’ve been coming here for years. But I’ll never accept disrespect and racism from anyone. The employee took her job way too seriously and racially discriminated my girlfriend and I and made us super uncomfortable MID-MEAL! Karma will strike her I am not worried. Shame on JR Crickets for hiring such racist help. Will never return to this location again and I advise you if you’re a non-black individual you will be treated differently than other...
