Recently went here for a friend’s birthday. Ambience is very nice, loft open area with trees inside. The drink menu is a little different, the cocktails are named after the main alcohol in them, the 2 best were the Mezcal and the Gin, well-balanced and tasty.

Bartenders, servers, and hosts were nice and attentive, no problems there.

Food was the main issue. It came out looking pretty good, but for the taste it was just either bad or okay. You can get better shrimp fried rice at a lotta Chinese take out spots. Sushi was alright, didn’t really have that wow factor to justify the price. The chargrilled oysters had heavy garnish on them with very little meat, both chargrilled and raw oysters were very tiny. I ordered the tempura rock shrimp and didn’t finish it, so I took it home. I heated it up later and something was off; when I moved the to go box off my table there was a large amount of grease that had soaked all the way through the box. Needless to say my stomach was upset and bubbling for the remainder of the day due to the heavy grease content that they clearly didn’t drain or pat off the shrimp.

Also if you have a large party of 8 or more, they will only split the check 4 ways so it is best to bring cash.

Be careful with the parking, you have to pay to park and it appears they do boot your vehicle if you are late returning to your car or you let the amount of time you pay for lapse; we saw a few cars that were booted.

We were there on a Saturday night but only 2-3 tables were occupied when we came in. We ended up the last people there, it was not crowded at any point for a weekend night.

I would honestly give about a 2.5 star rating for the whole experience mainly because of the poor to average quality of the...

WARNING FOR PEOPLE WITH FOOD ALLERGIES: On Feb 16th, my husband and I went to Bully Boy. I told our waitress that I am allergic to tree nuts and mango, and she said ok. After ordering a few dishes, the Brussel sprouts arrived looking as if they had nuts on top. My husband checked the menu - no nuts were listed. Still, I wanted to confirm before eating. I was looking around for our waitress but could not get her attention. Someone in the open kitchen noticed, and they pointed the manager over. I asked him, what type of nuts are these? He went to the open kitchen and returned saying, it's puffed rice. I took a bite far away from the "puffed rice" and immediately knew I was starting to have an allergic reaction. Our waitress stopped by at that moment, and I asked her again, what are these? She said, puffed rice. I paused, knowing that was not correct, then she said, oh you mean the cashews? I responded, that is a tree nut; I told you I was allergic to tree nuts. She said, you did. (Nothing else) Immediately my husband and I left the restaurant, I carried my Epipen in my hand on our short way home, then was terribly sick before deciding we needed to head to the ER in case any additional reactions were coming. Almost six hours in the ER, a missed day of work, genuine fear for myself and my family about how severe the reaction would be. This was negligent behavior from the Bully Boy staff. Even typing this two weeks after I am upset and stressed thinking about this entire experience.

Bully Boy has our contact info (from reservation and from family stopping by the evening of Feb 16) and HAVE NOT REACHED OUT TO...

My husband and I were very excited to try out Bully Boy as we love the sister restaurant - Two Urban Licks and were looking forward to the Japanese style tapas they offer. Sadly, I don't think we will be coming back due to the hit or miss food.

Upon entering the establishment the decor and ambiance are absolutely stunning and perfect for a date night. The staff at the host stand and our server were all very nice and accommodating - so no complaints there. We started with some cocktails - the mezcal cocktail & the tequila cocktail. Both were decent but nothing memorable.

We then ordered a variety of different plates to share per our server's recommendation.

Duck Spring Rolls - Dry & lacking flavor.

1/2 Dozen Blue Point Oysters - Oysters themselves were fresh but we did not enjoy the accompanying sauces they came with. Both were heavy on the vinegar which was not our cup of tea. We asked our server if they had cocktail sauce, horseradish, or crackers but were told they don't keep any in the kitchen.

Rock Shrimp - This was our favorite dish of the night - so much so that we place an additional order to go. Lightly fried, great texture, and yummy sauce.

Godzilla Sushi Roll - This was another dish we really enjoyed. The fish was fresh and the spice level was perfect!

Fried Rice - This was the most disappointing dish. We had seen photos online from patrons of a fried rice dish that had a Japanese style omelet on top - which was what we were excited and looking forward to. However, our rice came without it. Additionally the rice itself tasted like something from a freezer section or...

Good restaurant, but I have some THOUGHTS! A couple of friends and I thought we would try out this self proclaimed “classy restaurant” for my girlfriend’s birthday. We ordered sushi and a couple appetizers. It was good! Pretty much exactly what you would expect for the price - good quality and very tasty. Unfortunately, I do not feel comfortable ending my review there! After dinner, the drama began!! Our waitress displayed a QR code through which we were to pay the bill. We scanned the code, and, surprised at the total, asked the waitress if it included gratuity. We were confused when she said no, but as the link had no itemized break down of the cost we were forced to assume she was correct. We left a fair tip and began exiting the restaurant. It was then that we received a receipt for our meal via email. To our dismay, they had already included a 20% tip!! Not very classy Bully Boy. Fortunately when we brought this to the waitresses attention she apologized and refunded us our additional tip. It may be that she simply didn’t know the payment processing service and they used added gratuity automatically, but I have a hard time believing we were her first customers required to use it. In any event, make sure you check your email receipt if you think the total was a little too high! One more important note… The restrooms DO have locks which are unfortunately placed below (and obscured by) the LARGE door handle. At first glance, I was unable to locate the lock and feared being exposed to another guest seeking to relieve themself…

Bully Boy is a trendy Japanese-fusion concept offering a plethora of shareable plates. We had an enjoyable experience and ordered 13 dishes for a party of three. First, let me say their service was superb. We were very well taken care of, and they even offered us complementary dessert. Quality-wise it was a mixed bag; here are all the dishes we ate, in order of preference: • Charbroiled Naked Jade Oysters (A+): Exceptional. The yuzu siracha butter and avocado emulsion make all the difference • Hamachi Crudo (A): A real highlight. Refreshing! And the watermelon radish and grapefruit are a nice touch! • Bacon Belly Bites (A): Excellent. Extremely flavorful • Calamari Fries (A-): Innovative! • Corn Tempura Fritters (B+): Very good • Beef Gyoza (B+): Very creative. Covered in edamame, bell peppers, and chili sauce • Godzilla Roll (B): Nice but not special. Spicy Salmon, Cucumber, Salmon Aburi, Lemon, Spicy Mayo, Eel Sauce, and Cilantro • Kalbi Ribs (B): Solid, but I’ve had much better • Veggie Spring Rolls (B-): Decent • Tuna Nigiri (B-): Did not meet expectations considering the high price point (18 bucks for 2 pieces) • Mochi Ice Cream (C+): Just OK • Yuzu Pepper Wings (C-): Pedestrian hence disappointing • Duck Spring Roll (D): Very bland Before tipping, we paid $258 for a 3-person meal (12 shareable dishes, 1 complementary dessert, only water, no alcohol). Overall, I’d give Bully Boy a solid B.

Been wanting to try this place for awhile now, and FINALLY, on Saturday, I had such a pleasant experience. For starters, Robert my waiter, was phenomenal. Robert was extremely attentive without over doing it. Robert made menu suggestions and truly just rolled out the red carpet, just off his service alone, I would return and request him. The restaurant is much smaller than it gives in the pictures but I love the plants and plenty of natural lighting. Parking is not the greatest but I did valet with Two Urban Licks after getting frustrated from doing a few laps. Bar seating is EXTREMELY limited maybe 10 seats or less. I did think the open kitchen cooking setup at the bar was cool, I believe it was just sushi being done but I couldn’t tell fully. Ok, back to Robert, as I was celebrating the tail end of my birthday, he gave me a card that was signed by the staff and presented a mini chocolate with icing and a candle, not only did he bring one for me but my guest as well as our birthdays are just a few days apart. I loved how he didn’t make us share a birthday dessert. We tried the broiled oysters, Brussels, crispy shrimp, a roll and this cool tuna bomb thingy. Unfortunately the tuna bomb fell extremely flat compared to everything we tried. The tuna had spice, lots of spice but lacked salt and actual flavor other than the spiciness. The playlist was great and wasn’t too loud. I would definitely recommend.
