I recently visited this establishment while in Atlanta for a trade show, on the recommendation of a local colleague. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of what I’d expect from any reputable brewery—much less one that was supposed to impress an out-of-towner.
To start on a positive note, the drinks were decent. However, the food was unquestionably subpar, lacking both flavor and overall quality. Even more concerning was the service, which was consistently inattentive and, at times, outright rude. Our primary server, Michael, was disappointing from the moment we sat down. I had to repeatedly call his name just to get basic service, such as water refills. When I asked about using a loyalty program coupon, his response was unnecessarily snide, implying that out-of-towners shouldn’t even bother with it. While I acknowledged my own misunderstanding of the coupon’s 24-hour policy, his condescending attitude was entirely out of line.
The evening wasn’t entirely without a silver lining—another server, Keelan, was a saving grace, stepping in to offer genuine care and attention. His courtesy and professionalism at least allowed us to experience the level of hospitality this place should strive for. Unfortunately, one attentive server can’t make up for a lackluster meal and poor treatment elsewhere.
Although the vibe of the space is attractive, that alone cannot salvage an experience marred by rude service and mediocre food. As someone with a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, I recognize the pressures of a busy shift, but professionalism and respect for customers are non-negotiable. Michael’s dismissive attitude—and his parting remark about being “very busy”—left a truly negative impression.
I can promise that on future visits to Atlanta, I won’t be returning here, nor will I recommend this spot to any personal or professional contacts. There are far better establishments in this city—Old Monk Brewery, McCrays Tavern, or honestly anywhere else would be a superior choice. While the atmosphere shows promise, it doesn’t come close to compensating for the subpar service and disappointing food. Save your time, money, and patience for a place that values...
Read moregreat beer, great food, great location. outside patio has a fantastic view of downtown Atlanta and lots of outdoor seating. the decor and layout inside is extremely well done. i had the bbq shrimp tacos for dinner which were awesome and i would definitely order them again. both beertenders working were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers on tap and made me feel very welcome.
i sat at the downstairs bar which has several taps including 4 giant stainless steel serving tanks pouring beer directly into your pint or taster, which really add to the experience. i had all the beers that were being served downstairs. the Euphonia is an excellent German Pilsner and a very easy drinker for those looking to start their journey into the world of craft beer. Perun Pale Ale, Hoplandia IPA and Kikimora Double IPA were some of the best hoppy beers you'll find in Atlanta, which is no surprise since the head brewer is Mitch Steele, formerly of Stone Brewing in San Diego. they definitely have a West Coast flavor profile to them but are unique enough to stand out on their own. when i turned to the dark side, i was also pleasantly surprised to find one of my favorite and one of the most under-served beer styles, a dry Irish Stout called Southern Brogue. it was one of the best commercial examples I have had in a long time. the Pilotlight Coffee Porter and Doomsday Hound Russian Imperial Stout were both wonderful if you prefer darker beer styles.
on my way out the door, I snagged a 4 pack of cans of the Radegast Triple IPA, New Realm's Grand Opening IPA and I can't wait to try it! I also grabbed myself a t-shirt. the New Realm logo makes a great graphic tee. lots of other merch options as well.
if you haven't checked this place out yet, you are definitely missing out! (i need to go back and check out the...
Read moreBrought a group here for a joint 30th birthday celebration because a couple of my friends and myself have been once before and really liked it, and we wanted to enjoy the night having a few beers, dinner, and sitting on the rooftop to enjoy the views. We came in and were told we could not go upstairs to the rooftop so we decided to grab some beers at the bar inside and go outside to the patio, but then we were told we could not order beers at the bar and we would have to go outside and order from there (the line to get a beer outside was wrapped around the building). We decided to go ahead and get a table so we could actually get a beer and go ahead and eat so we could just leave and go somewhere that we could actually enjoy ourselves. We had a party of 18 and even though we came together and all rode together, we weren’t allowed to sit together because of covid? So we had to split up between 3 tables of 6 that were all right next to each other (which was fine). While we were waiting on our food, two friends pulled up a chair to one of the tables to have a conversation & a staff member came over and threatened to throw us out for having more than 6 people at a table.. I think they should have a list of all of their ridiculous “rules” outside the front door and on their website to save everyone a lot of hassle. The staff was terrible and extremely rude. Food was good and came fast. We got our checks and left as soon as we finished our food because we didn’t want to spend another dime at this place after dealing with such rude bartenders and other staff. Really bad experience, and waste of time. None of us will be back. Visit Abide brewery or Wild Leap for a way better...
