I've had the pleasure of ordering from China Dragon on Ponce de Leon Ave NE a few times, and each visit has been wonderful. I apologize, as Iāve never asked your name, but the lady who takes the orders and hands them off is one of the kindest and most caring people I've encountered in a long time!
The first time I ordered from here, I experienced one of my most embarrassing momentsāI was a few bucks short. Having never met me before, she looked at me and said, "Just pay extra next time!" I was blown away by her kindness, as it's almost non-existent these days.
Due to being out of town, I wasn't able to return for a couple of months, but I never forgot her generosity. When I finally went back to pick up my order, I told her I owed her money from last time. She was surprised, having briefly forgotten, but she appreciated the gesture. It was a beautiful moment of kindness reciprocated, and I don't take such acts for granted. Super kind ladyāI will ask your name next time!
My favorite dish here is the Mongolian Beef, which I get extra spicy with mixed vegetables and either fried rice or brown rice (I can't remember which one they have). Itās my go-to for sure! While I love it this way, I assure you, her Mongolian Beef is fantastic on its own as well. And I have no doubt that the other items on the menu are just as good. If you haven't tried it this way, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't like spicy food, adding the mixed vegetables gives it that extra āmmmfffā that makes the traditional Mongolian Beef that much better!
Only wish and not a negative by any means! Sometimes, especially weekends I just wish they would stay open a bit later, but I cannot blame them for closing when they do there is only two of them and they need their personal time as much as the rest of us and they well...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the ONLY Chinese food we eat in Atlanta and have lived here for 5+ years now. This place is for takeout only and it may not seem like much, but if you want the best tasting Chinese food to go and QUICKLY, this is the place. Whether you call ahead or simply walk up and order at the window, your food will be ready in about 10-15 minutes.
I have eaten at other Chinese places where my stomach ends up being messed up the next day, but never here. You know how at some places the food tastes of old oil or is just greasy? Not here! I order mine without vegetables, and they never mess up the order!
My go-to is the pork lo mein combo with fried rice, no vegetables in the lo mein or the rice. My wife gets the house special been curd combo or the General Tsao's combo all how they come (with vegetables). Our order comes out to around $30-$32, plus I leave at least $5-$10 tip because they always get our order right and it is ready so quickly.
Their fried won tons rule. The won ton soup and egg drop soup that come with the combos also rule.
If you stop by on a weekend night, you'll see every kind of person there hanging out waiting for their food because we all know - it's the best damn Chinese food in Atlanta!
To sum it up: Thanks to sensory processing issues, I am a very picky eater, so if I like some place, you know it has to be good. Not saying I have the best taste in the world, but I won't eat something if it doesn't taste just right.
To give some extra context, my wife calls me "The Chicken Katsu Guy" when we go to Japanese restaurants as my taste and preferences are very plain. I also order deli sandwiches with only meat and cheese, no mayo or other condiments.
We love you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me preface by saying Iām from Philly and I know the south is not known for Chinese food, but I was hoping to find something edible. So I ordered via Uber eats on a Friday nightā¦.mind you I have eaten nothing off of this plate before I took the pic. Ordered the rib tips, house lo mein, small chicken fried rice, beef lo mein and 2 egg rolls. The egg rolls were horrible! Ate a quarter of one and threw them both away. The rib tips were mainly seasoned bones with barely any meat on them. Hell as you can see in the pic there were even straight up bones with nothing on them. The house lo mein and chicken fried rice were passable, but I def wouldnāt recommend. My friend enjoyed the beef lo mein but heās from the south and probably doesnāt know any better š¤£š¤£š¤£ j/k. Needless to say Iām 0-2 for Chinese food in Atlanta and def do not recommend this place at all if you come from the north and are accustomed to a certain type of Chinese food. Just go back home and get right. I wasted $80+ with the fees on this and I was tight. I repeat...
