UPDATING MY REVIEW FROM 1 STAR TO 5 STARS
I am changing my review from 1 star to 5 stars, because Honey Bubble did a great job to apologize after this originally poor experience. They reached out and comped me for a free tea, after my unfortunate encounter with their employee. Also, their tea quality has continued to improve after this visit, which is always great. I also really appreciate their great response to COVID. They’ve been super responsible with enforced social distancing and not allowing customers to stay inside the shop. I definitely would recommend visiting Honey Bubble for bubble tea, as it is a great local gem in Atlanta.
Original post: After being a loyal Honey Bubble customer since 2012, it saddens me that I even have to post this — but after today’s experience there, I do find it necessary to do so. As someone who has easily spent over $500 at Honey Bubble over the years, I do not appreciate an employee rudely talking to me and rolling their eyes about their mistake. When ordering, I asked for lychee jellies for an extra charge (as I do every time I order there) and was given lychee pearls. No big deal to me — I just went back up to the counter and asked them if they could please remake my tea since I asked for jellies and got pearls. The woman working gave me an irritated, exasperated look and told me that “next time you need to make sure to say you want lychee jellies” (which I did). She then rudely said “take out your straw” and stomped over to the back counter to “remake” the tea. She proceeded to take my old tea and filter out the lychee pearls (and many of the tapioca pearls that are supposed to be included for free too) and then put in a tiny scoop of lychee jellies. She then resealed it, and her coworker came over and dropped it at the counter rudely without saying a word, in a fashion that implied I just gave the largest inconvenience possible...
Note: there was no one else currently in line, so there were no other customers asking for their help or needing their attention — yet, they still felt the need to be rude about a mistake they made...
Read moreI’m assuming it’s the owner, but she is very rude. It may be an Asian owned establishment, and she obviously has some sort of prejudice towards black women. My cousin and I walked in and were just stared at and never greeted. A white family walks behind us and she has this high-pitched voice saying “hi, how are you?” Coincidence? Nah.
Update: So, you all respond six months later, and instead of an apology for the bad experience, your response is no as if it did not happen while mentioning a token black? That's crazy.
The last time I checked, being married to black men does not mean you respect black women or black female customers. Get real. The service was trash. The sooner you acknowledge that, the better off your future customers will be.
Update 2: So, I am just now seeing yet another weak response. Nonetheless, listing off how you "employ" black people at a low wage has nothing to do with how you treated a PAYING CUSTOMER. I am going to need you all to re-evaluate the distinctions between the two. You have yet to acknowledge anything; you only deny and list off what you consider your black accomplishments.
I will humor you with a congratulations since you so obviously need it. My advice: Money is green. Does not matter who it is coming from, whether it be a white family or two black women walking in. Treat your customers the same. Greet them all; do not just stare at them while they are shopping with you and make them uncomfortable. If you are going to be rude, be rude to everyone. Seems like you pick and choose, though. Not a coincidence, as...
Read moreI am a frequent customer and have been since this place first opened. I live in Atlanta and this past summer I have visited at least 5 times. My friend gets a pistachio milk tea, I get the coconut milk tea, and my sister the taro snowcap. I also see the same workers when I come, the Asian with a short haircut that happens to be my favorite. One time my friends pistachio was messed up because there was a lot of flavored powder and she got hers exchanged. It wasn't til today when I noticed the no exchange or return policy. I got my usual coconut milk tea with black tea light on the 2% milk and it tasted like a spicy cherry flavor. I don't know what happened it usually tastes like coconut dessert but I do know I am allergic to cherries nor do I ever expect the coconut flavor to taste that way and asked for an exchange after one sip from me and my sister to confirm my taste buds weren't off. I was told of the policy but not only that but the customer service was TERRIBLE. Being a part time cashier I noticed the new girl cashier who was tatted was a little confused but the white brunette that I've seen at least twice this summer didn't say a thing. They didn't have our best interest at heart and I'm very disappointed. If you are going to have a policy set on stone at least try and make every drink consistent. This was not the first time a drink of one of ours was messed up as stated before. I will no longer be a frequent customer and am very...
