I don’t normally write reviews this long, but JC absolutely deserves every word of recognition for the incredible service he provided during our Cinco de Mayo dinner at CT Reformer Taqueria. From the moment we were seated until we left hours later, JC delivered a level of hospitality and attentiveness that elevated our entire evening and made it one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had.

Let me start by saying: the restaurant was packed — and understandably so. It was Cinco de Mayo, the energy was high, the music was festive, the bar was busy, and every single table was full. Despite the chaos that often comes with a holiday crowd, JC never missed a beat. He greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. You could tell from the very beginning that he was not just there to take orders — he was there to create an experience.

What really stood out about JC was his perfect balance of professionalism and personality. He was polished and efficient, but never robotic. He made thoughtful recommendations, guided us through the menu with enthusiasm, and answered all our questions with patience — whether we were asking about spicy levels, tequila pairings, or portion sizes. You could tell he genuinely knew the menu and enjoyed sharing it with his guests.

JC also had impeccable timing. Drinks came out fast and cold, and refills arrived without us even needing to ask. He kept a careful eye on our table without hovering — we never once felt rushed, yet we never waited too long for anything. That kind of awareness is rare, and it was clear he was managing more than one table with the same level of care and precision.

What really impressed us was how he handled our large group. We were celebrating Cinco de Mayo with friends and family, and naturally, that meant a lot of different personalities, preferences, and requests. JC remembered every detail — who ordered what, who needed substitutions, who was allergic to cilantro, and who wanted that extra spicy sauce on the side. He navigated all of it with ease, making each person feel individually taken care of.

As the night went on and the party vibe turned up a notch — more music, more margaritas, more laughter — JC somehow matched the energy without losing his cool or professionalism. He joked with us, made great conversation, and kept the vibe light and festive, all while staying on top of everything we needed. At one point, one of our guests accidentally spilled a drink, and JC handled it quickly and gracefully — fresh napkins, a new drink, and zero fuss. That kind of calm and control is exactly what sets someone like him apart.

And let’s talk about how much he hustled. The restaurant was clearly understaffed for such a busy night, but JC never showed it. He didn’t complain, didn’t miss a step, and never once let the busy environment affect his positive attitude. We kept looking at each other in awe like, “How is he doing this?!” He was a true professional under pressure.

By the end of the night, we were all raving not just about the food and drinks — which were excellent — but about the service. JC truly made our Cinco de Mayo. His energy, attention to detail, and personal touch elevated the entire celebration.

We left full, happy, and honestly wishing we could request JC for every meal going forward. If management sees this, please know: JC is a gem. A total asset to your restaurant. He turned what could’ve been a chaotic night into a flawlessly smooth and fun evening. He’s the reason we’ll be coming back — and bringing more friends with us.

Thank you, JC, for making our holiday unforgettable. You’re the real MVP...

Food is very meh. Chicken enchiladas were very bland. Even the individual pieces of chicken had minimal taste and were very dry. The chicken was also not shredded like you'd expect in an enchilada. Some pieces were 1.5 inches and others 0.5 inch, so the distribution was spotty.

Rice tasted good, but it wasn't Mexican rice. It didn't have any seasoning, wasn't even the slightest hint of red, no chopped or stewed tomatoes, nothing. It was more like 90-second rice from the grocery store but very watery and mushy, so the texture was kind of icky.

Salsas were fine. Salsa comes in a kit w verde, medium roja, mild roja, and pico, and the pico cup was only 1/3 full.

Extra queso fresco was good, but cheese is cheese and is almost always good.

A note to anyone who's never ordered from them:

  1. enchiladas say they're served "with Mexican rice". That's not accurate. For one, as stated above, it's not Mexican rice. For two, it's served ON TOP OF rice, so all that mushy rice is now completely mushed into one solid piece of mush, attached to the bottom of both enchiladas. I had to flip them both over and scrape the mass of rice off so my bites wouldn't be 50% rice.

  2. nowhere does it say that your entree comes w a salsa kit, so I ordered a salsa kit. When the food arrived, there were 2 salsa kits and 2 boxes of chips, so I wasted my money on that. Had I known it came w salsa, I wouldn't have ordered extra.

I got delivery, so I can't speak to atmosphere.

The only thing I know about the service is that doordash estimated it would be about 34 min in total. The restaurant is only 2.5 miles from where I'm staying (in a house, not a hotel, so no delay in terms of navigating elevators and long hallways, and in a neighborhood, not the city, and at 2245, so almost no traffic). The dasher did fine, but the restaurant was slow. I ordered at 2230, and it took them 5 min just to acknowledge the order. I almost thought the order didn't go through or something. Took them another 30 min just to make the food (2 chicken enchiladas, preprepared side of queso fresco, preprepared salsa kits). The chicken was dry, so I know they didn't make it fresh because of the late order, so that's not the reason. I have no idea why it would take 30 min to make 2 enchiladas.

No intention of going back, and I don't...

CT Reforma Taqueria isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a journey, and a celebration all wrapped into one. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant energy, lively atmosphere, and impeccable service make it clear that this is no ordinary dining spot. It’s a place where every detail has been carefully curated to transport you straight to the heart of Mexico, from the stunning décor to the electrifying flavors on every plate and in every glass.

And speaking of glasses, let’s talk about the true hero of the bar—Jose. This man isn’t just a bartender; he’s a maestro of mixology, a master of hospitality, and the driving force behind the bar’s dynamic spirit. Watching Jose work is like witnessing an artist in action—seamlessly crafting cocktails with precision, speed, and an undeniable passion for his craft. His service is top-tier, his energy is infectious, and his drinks? Simply legendary. Whether he’s mixing up a classic margarita or one of CT’s signature creations, every sip is an experience in itself.

CT Reforma Taqueria takes cocktails to an entirely new level with its show-stopping signature drinks. The Bull is a spectacle to behold—bold, exciting, and packed with flavor. The Tequila Tree is a must for tequila lovers, offering an unforgettable tasting experience that elevates your night. And then there’s The Barrel—a masterpiece that delivers rich, aged flavors with a presentation that makes it clear you’re drinking something truly special.

At CT, you don’t just come for a meal—you come for an adventure. The combination of innovative drinks, authentic flavors, and a staff that goes above and beyond makes it a standout destination for anyone looking for a night of fun, flavor, and fantastic service. It's funny how social media has an impact on the choices we make. While I am not on instagram, that does not stop friends and family from sharing posts with me. My sister is a social media influencer in the food and travel industry and she suggested that I try this spot out after viewing an instagram post. The highlight of the post was the mimosa bar and the chocolate piñata ( this must be ordered 24 hours in advance). Finding this place is fairly easy. It's in a mix use area where the luxury apartments Modera Prominenceare are located. They offer a large parking garage that was free during my visit. The restaurant can best be described as contemporary Mexican. This is derived from both the decor as well as the menu options. I really appreciated the aesthetics. They have beautiful light fixtures, leather bar stools and wood tables. All things I appreciate in Decor Our wait staff was very friendly and appeared to be familiar with the menu options. My friend asked about several dishes as they were being delivered to other tables and she knew exactly what they were. My friend and I ordered the same thing-, the shrimp and grits. However, we did start our meal with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is served with 4 options. I did.not have a favorite and enjoyed all four! The shrimp and grits is a decent portion size. The grits were very flavorful and just the right amount of thickness for my liking. The shrimp were plentiful and a decent size. The only thing I don’t like about shrimp and grits is having to take the shell off the end. It’s just so much work. Overall, I love the dish and would order it again. This spot has a laid back vibe, good service, and tasty food. I would recommend giving it a try!
