Maepole — Restaurant in Atlanta

Delicious, fast and healthy! It’s a take on a meat and 3, though you could go all veggie easily. There are plenty of options for Keto or Vegan diets, and I think everything was GF but the Mac (which was whole wheat, and good!).

Their patio is open, but dining room is just for take-out right now (UPDATE - now open inside too!). To place an order, go to their website for the Toast link (don’t use the Toast app!), or just order using your phone once you arrive. I couldn’t figure out online ordering before we got there, but everything was ready in about 5m anyways. They have a small free lot right behind the store, and a few 15m parking spots.

We tried the pork, rice, sweet potato mash, green beans, Mac, and a few sauces. All super tasty and healthy! And the watermelon juice “Greaterade” - which was good, but will be better once watermelon...

This was my third visit to Maepole in Summerhill, and overall, it’s been a great spot for healthy food that tastes good at reasonable prices. Every experience has been good—until this last visit.

While I was completing my order, I asked a question about pricing to a woman who said she was the front-end manager. Shockingly, she started touching her teeth with her hands while standing behind the counter, which is definitely not sanitary around food. I also noticed her handling desserts and placing them into the packaging afterward.

Aside from this incident, my visits have always been positive. However, I’ve never seen this employee before, and I’m now unsure if I’ll return to this location because cleanliness is very important in food service. I would have normally contacted management but she said she is management so decided to leave...

UPDATE:

A year ago I tried Maepole for the first time and rated it 5 stars. I was excited for fresh, flavorful, options relatively close to where I live in the West End.

Since my first visit it’s been all down hill. The prices have gone up and the quality and quantity have gone way down. I know prices everywhere have increased, but $15 can still get me a filling, healthy, high-quality meal at plenty of restaurants in atlanta (Farm Burger, Tassillis, Sweetgreen, Gusto …. Etc), and I’ll be taking my money to those places from now on.

The first pic in this review is the first bowl I ever got. The second is what I got tonight (and my husband’s bowl looked exactly the same.) And this has been very consistently the case.
