Went there on my way back from Ikea about 15 minutes before closing and was delighted by everything there. Here is the summary of my experience there:
Ambiance 5/5: The place limited parking but they validate your parking which is great. They have heated outdoor seating which is great. The indoor is nothing like fine dining which this is not but casual and easy on the eyes.
Service 5/5: Although the place was busy, the order-taking was pretty quick, delightful, and helpful.
Food 5/5: Although the menu is limited, I feel there is something for everyone here. We were served with nachos with queso dip with jalapenos. I like things on the spicier side and so I loved the queso dip. Here is what we ordered:
a) Veggie Bean tacos: I was not looking forward to it but it was really tasty and big. I ordered 2 and it filled me up. This is a great treat for people who love vegetarian dishes. b) Fried Chicken Taco: My wife ordered it and she loved it. c) We also ordered Fish and Briskett (recommended by the front desk) but my wife still liked the Fried chicken taco the best.
Overall, if I had to nitpick any issue, it would be that they do not have soda on tap and serve Coke cans.
Definitely worth the visit, now this chain will be on my radar whenever there is one around.
The good:
Not so good:
So last time, my friend who used to work there and I went in the person that she had problems with I guess for one reason or another was there and just turned around and ignored her, but she kept yelling comments like you’re nasty. You’re disgusting you shouldn’t even be allowed to be in here, and like saying it loud enough to our other customers can hear and with her and I trying to go to dinner with me moving soon. We really wanted to come here and from the moment we walked in, Rebecca wouldn’t stop making comments and as we were leaving shielded from across the bar with Customer still in there yelling at us to never come back again. I’ve actually had quite a few people tell me that they stopped going because Saria doesn’t work there anymore and things are just inappropriate. I told the owner of the owners about it when I was there. About the situation and I came to pick up food for my roommate and I and she made more nasty comments in front of people where they can hear and I don’t know that anything was done because it’s continuing to happen and I really want to go again with Saria and my aunt when she gets into town, but I’m afraid that if I do It’s gonna cause a scene. My aunt will say something and it’s not gonna be the fact that she is beyond it and you were treating customers like garbage and you’re 35. Something needs to be done...
Read moreThis is a sad day, people. I've been a patron of Taqueria for well over 15 years. I've recommended this place to hundreds of people. I have friends from out of state asking to be taken there whenever they visit. Not anymore. Over the last 3 or 4 years I have seen a huge decline in the quality of the food. (yes, it took this long to give up my fav lunch stop) My family and I have adored this place and often called it our hang out, but not any more. All of us have had similar encounters with overly spicy food. Cold food. Hard inedible fried fish pieces. Chowder so thick it was like batter one day and so thin it was like water the next visit. All of a sudden the guacamole, sauces and chowder so spicy it's inedible. I've never complained or asked for a newly made taco in past years. In the span of one year, I've sent back nasty, cold, thin overly crispy fish jerky several times and had to ask where the sauce was in the tacos. Without knowing about each others disappointing visits, we found that all of us had inquired as to the unexpected spicy trend going on and lack of attention to sauces and ingredients. Yesterday was my final visit. My lunch was a total bust! My family called it quits months ago. Someone needs to seriously step up and oversee the kitchen staff and get them back on track! Howell...
