World Taste Atlanta — Restaurant in Atlanta

Disgusting experience and horrible customer service! Me and my lady were hungry after hours on a Thursday night, so we decided to give Taste a try. First off, we parked across the street because they were charging $40 to park in an empty parking lot, we explained that we were not going there to party, just to grab some food, they had no understanding. Secondly, we walk to the door and they charged us $60($40 men/$20women) to get into a practically empty venue, mind you we were just going there to eat. It was late and we were hungry so we went in. We go inside and we were not greeted by anyone, so we find a waitress and ask for a menu, she tells us that a menu is not necessary tonight because they only had wings and fries. So my lady decided to order the only thing that they had to offer, mind you, I was over it at that point so I didn’t order. I asked the waitress what was the tab and she told us $30 for 1 order of Wings and fries. Me and my lady looked at each other and walked out of the door. So basically we would have paid $90 for one order of wings and fries, no drinks included or anything, on top of the fact that they were rude and unwelcoming. Chef Chauncey is a delight! The decor is magnificently regal! However, it all comes second to the truly delectable menu! Everything looks so good, it's hard to choose just one item. My introduction to this fabulous restaurant was at one of our family Sunday dinners when one of my sons added "Cauliflower Wings" to the meal. We were all so enchanted by the taste, the "Cauliflower Wings" became the lead topic of conversation. On yesterday while out and about, my 84 year old mother wanted to go and find the place where that tasty treat came from. Found it we did! We had a delightful conversation with Chef Chauncey as our "Cauliflower Wings" were being prepared. Now that we know where we can find "World Taste Atlanta", we will be tasting this world often! Their menus pricing just gave me sticker shock. I have been craving West African on my lunch break. Plenty north of the city(where I live), but slim pickings in the south portion, where my job is at. I hope to try their food one day. Most West African restaurants can be pretty pricey ($15-$25 per dish), but even this had me do a double take considering it is their lunch menu that is $17-$30. I expect that pricing at dinner, but not on something that is specifically their lunch menu. And why is a SIDE of Jollof Rice $12? Abeg that is too much. Maybe my husband and I will do a special date night one day here, but definitely not for my lunch break. Since I have to leave a star rating, I am not a jerk. I am leaving a 4 because who knows.
