Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Auburn Hills

Absolutely love this restaurant staff, service and food are phenomenal. Fast friendly service. Love the diner feel, love the kiosk ordering. Shakes are to die for Garlic burger is a must order, fries amazing. The shakes are the best I've tasted over all. Staff members seem to enjoy their jobs. I seen some reviews on here that don't seem as legit as people want them to seem things have changed greatly since the covid 19 pandemic and sadly people are just going to have to deal. I look at it this way it's them trying to do thier part. And some of these comments just sound like some people where but hurt because they felt entitled to something and were turned down. I'd rather come into a restaurant and here the staff laughing and cutting it up then having that " I'm bored & hate my job" attitude that you get most places. No one working at this place even the franchise owner can help or has control over what corporate takes out or puts in place. Heck has anyone been to McDonald's lately? You go in there and it's mostly just kiosk ordering anymore. You can barely order at the counter in most fast restaurants that have been strictly fast food. I've worked in the fastfood industry almost my entire adult life and especially after covid with how understaffed everyone is please tey to be understanding and kind to those of them that showed up. Because no one is entitled to anything. Good customer service is great but what's even greater is if everyone will do there part. Clean up after you get done with your meal for heaven sake. Sorry I've worked in places where customers have left a mess and there wasn't table service ever. So please be patient with staff anywhere if not you can always fill out an application. But there isn't an issue with anything about this restaurant they are doing an amazing job. So to the staff at Auburn Hills Steak N Shake keep up...

Went through the drive thru 8/10/17 approximately 7:00pm. The girl on the speaker was rude. After ordering a simple number 7 she kept repeating the wrong thing and giggling. Obviously she wasn't listening to me but talking with others in the restaurant. 😡 Oh it get better! Then she repeated my order back so fast I couldn't understand what she said. Then there was a long pause and she said wait for your total. I waited and waited and after 3 minutes I thought she forgot or got side tracked. So I pulled forward. Yeah she was screwing around in there and I startled her when she turned around and saw me. I was overly polite to her hopeful some would rub off. She told me the total but I already had bills in my hand and gave them to her. She got the change out of the register and turn to the window and tossed them into my hand (like I had germs or something-didn't want to touch me???) well some landed in my hand but a dime fell onto the ground. She burst out laughing and walked away. When she came back to the window and handed me my drink I politely ask her if I could have the rest of my change. WOW out came an even worse attitude! She scowled at me and told her girlfriend that the money had dropped on the ground and now I have the nerve to ask for the rest of my change. She refused to give me it or my order and told her friend she had to do it and walked away. Are you kidding me!!!!!!!! Well after I got home to eat....asked for extra ice in my drink there was no ice and my sandwich was smashed so bad that it was coming out the opened up wrapper. Love steak'n shake but will NEVER go to this branch again and will make sure my family and friends know of the terrible terrible service I received. Inexcusable service from a below...

Ate here a few months back for the first time food was good. I read some of the reviews on here some are recent and sorry to say but except the ones about issues with staff customers seem to be upset about either quality of food of food or other factors that possibly have to do with the fact that before we entered the pandemic finding a job was hard because there wasn't openings anywhere. But since everything was lifted and started to get back up normal some people don't want to work and some places can get people through the door to hire them. Which I think is sad, but because of this alot of businesses had to change the way they operate. And alot of places end up messy because some customers don't clean up after themselves I've seen this many times. This restaurant is like any other fast food place and doesn't offer table service. I guess at one time they did but don't anymore. And from my experience working in food service sometimes unless you have a dedicated dinning room person it's hard to keep up with the the dinning room during a rush. Especially if customers leave their trash behind. Other than that I think the kiosk ordering is pretty cool because you don't have to wait at the counter for someone to notice you. Yes the the food may be greasy but I've seen that with every fast food place. That's just what you. I think the staff here is doing a fantastic job with being the hand they are dealt. Foods fantastic garlic burgers to die, shakes are awesome French fries some of the best I've tasted come out of a fast food chain. Oh I want to add that I really wish people would leave reviews basbased on actual exprienceand not because they got mad because they most likely were...
