Dennys at 1505 S. Havana st Aurora, CO Server David. C Date 08/14/23 11:42pm check out Harassment, Disgusting customer service/Host.
Me and my husband went here for our first time on our date night out and we had David. C as our host. It wasnt busy at all there was only one other guest there at a booth which were already served. He gave us a table and we asked for water to drink. David brought us our drinks and he gave me a dirty cup that still had food which looked like lemonade pieces all inside and I was disgusted by it. I ended up drinking some of my husband's that did not have anything dirty on it. I was trying to not complain about it so that we could enjoy our dinner. David. C came and took our order, my husband had a burger and fries and I had a salmon with rice and veggies, we also ordered chicken strip with fries and mac n cheese to go for our daughter. My husband's food was fine but mine was tasteless and the salmon had no seasoning or anything but butter on top of it which I've ordered every time I've visited any Dennys and always delicious but this was the first time I got it served this way, so I added salt and pepper to it and waited for David to come ask how our food was so that I can ask for lemon. He came around a few times to one other table that came in after us but not back to ours. I decided to ask him for lemon after waiting 10 minutes and he said okay. I waited and proceeded to eat slowly waiting for him to bring the lemon but David never did. He brought it once I was done eating which was insulting because he also said oh so you don't need this anymore and I said no I'm done. Once we went to pay I asked for the other food we ordered wondering why we never recieved it, david said they are making it now. we paid and I didn't tip him. He then decided to reprint the recipe and say that the amount is exactly what the bill was and asked if the service was bad. I politely said no so that I wouldnt have to explain and get more frusterated with everything. He then proceeded to demand a tip and felt entitled to one, insulting me and my husband for not tipping him saying he also never supposedly not gotten a tip, which is surprising that he claims he always gets one. I told him hes not entitled to a tip and then explained to him all the problems that actually were why he didnt get a tip. I told him the reason why i didnt want to mention anything is because i didnt want to look like him how he does complaining for a tip. He proceeded to walk around and aggresively ask the others if they were going to tip him and came back towards us and saying "thats what i thought", refering to others saying they are based on their experience. We had to tell him that we dont appreciate him being hostile having the demenor that he does towards us and that if he doesnt like his job he should quit not harass customers. My husband started to get really upset as it kept getting worse and we had to tell him were waiting for another 20 minutes now for the rest of our food and that is another problem why he wasnt being tipped. He kept going on and on harassing us for a reason why he didnt get tipped because he thought it was not a big deal, instead of listening to our complaints why he was wrong how he served us. HE kept going to the back gossiping about not being tipped and we heard him talking about it to the other employees and came out saying he doesnt care. He kept going to the bag where our order was finishing and kept hitting it. Once the order was done he nearly let it go before my husband even had the handles to it and barely grabbed it by one handle. The food was disgusting , the chicken was hard and over seasoned and the mac and cheese was slimy and look like it was all definatly tampered with. We didnt end up letting our daughter eat it.. For someone to act like they deserve answers and demand, belittle, tamper, harass and create a scene is unprofessional and disgusting as a employee anywhere.

Read moreMy experience today was absolutely horrific. My trans girlfriend and I had gone here to get a bit off food after a long day, and we got seated pretty quickly. However, we didn't have anyone come over to our table for a whole 40 minutes after being seated. There was a table nearby who came in roughly 20 minutes after we were seated and they got helped and got their drinks within 10 minutes of arriving. After we finally got to get drinks and order from Lisa, my girlfriend got a "Moons over my hammy" with both a sandwich and pancakes. Not only did she not recieve her pancakes, but her sandwich had egg shells in it. I got a "Choconana Pancake Breakfast" and had specifically requested to have none of my food touching, this was because I have Autism and I need them to not be touching to be able to enjoy any meal, but when I recieved them, both my eggs and hashbrowns were touching. Most places are really good with this accommodation, and this was just frustrating. I had also specifically requested not to have the meat side with my dish as I am unable to eat meat, however Lisa just kept suggesting other meats to replace the bacon instead of just taking it off. After we were mostly done eating, we requested to speak with a manager and I explained that my GIRLFRIEND not only recieved no pancakes but also mentioned that there was an egg shell in her sandwich, the manager, Tom, apologized and then just walked away. He eventually had come back out to speak to a table nearby and he looked at my girlfriend and said "Those pancakes will be right out for you SIR"(paraphrasing). But not only did he misgender my girlfriend, but we didn't even recieve the pancakes till we were already paying and getting ready to leave. Tom did mention vouching for us for the next time we come, but we doubt we'll...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin—Monique was truly exceptional. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel like the most important guests in the room. There was a warmth and sincerity to her welcome that instantly set the tone for the entire meal.
What really stood out was Monique’s attentiveness without ever being overbearing. She seemed to have this intuitive sense of when we needed something, whether it was a drink refill, a menu recommendation, or simply checking in to make sure everything was to our liking. It wasn’t just good service—it was thoughtful, gracious, and incredibly human.
She went above and beyond in every way. She walked us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, highlighting her personal favorites and being honest about what was popular and what she thought we might love. When we mentioned a couple of dietary restrictions, she didn’t just accommodate them—she took the time to check with the kitchen and came back with options and modifications that felt intentional and well-considered.
Even during what looked like a busy shift, Monique carried herself with such calm and grace. Always smiling, always patient, and never rushing us. It felt like she was genuinely invested in making our experience not just good, but memorable.
By the end of the night, we were talking about how every restaurant should have someone like Monique on the team. Her professionalism, kindness, and genuine care turned a simple dinner out into something we’re still thinking about days later.
If I could give ten stars, I would. Monique is a true credit to the hospitality industry and deserves every bit of recognition for the way she treats people—with respect, warmth, and a whole...
