First and foremost, I'm a gyro fan. It's the easiest thing to compare to other places too. They knocked it out of the park here and for a really great price. I've eaten it here and to go and I don't really notice any travel issues, so by all means take it to go it'll still be fresh and not soggy at all. They have so many menu options I also beef schwarma over rice. I also highly recommend this option. The first time I got pita bread to go with the beef Shawarma over rice, but it is not necessary at all. If you're really hungry get a side order of falafel. I used to get double meat on the gyro but it's completely unnecessary and significantly increases the cost. I can't believe I haven't rated this place already.... I freaking love these guys! There's a very very mild consistency issue depending on who's cooking, but it's still the same flavor profile which is amazing. Also if you go during prime lunch hours expect to wait. Same thing you might get caught at a dinner rush and you might end up waiting, but I guess that's the same with all food trucks.

Eating the falafel wrap here was a religious experience. Unassuming outside. Simple menu. But the food is absolutely incredible. Especially for the location The sauces were super tasty, the falafel soft on the inside and crispy outside. The pita bread was fluffy and soft too. So so tasty! The combo chicken and gyro rice plate I heard was fabulous too. Staple for the area, must visit! Can also sit outside on the free picnic benches Oh they also had gulab jamun as a dessert! We didn’t try the desserts but I’m sure they’ll be as good as the food Most options with meat but few vegan ones available

The food here is great but the unfortunate part is that the owner of this place steals the tips from his employees. He pays them an hourly wage and claims it is a good wage but he is taking their tips. And I don’t think that’s right. How about… pay them a good hourly wage and also let them make the tips. It’s so sad to see owners take advantage of their employees like this. I won’t be eating here anymore despite it being good food. I’m also going to be sharing this on as many Facebook groups and in all of my communities. I hope the owner of this place changes his greedy ways. So sad…

This food here is beyond amazing. To be fair, as a vegetarian, I haven't tried a lot of the dishes, but coming from a falafel aficionado, this place is hands down my favorite, and I've tried many. I used to live in the neighborhood and would stop here regularly biking home late from work; it literally became addicting, beware! The late night hours are perfect for people with a not-so-typical schedule. The wait to get your food can be a bit long even if there aren't many people there, but that's because every falafel order is dropped fresh in the fryer, made-to-order. A lot of other food trucks are more like "fast food trucks," finding ways cut corners and speed the process up, which I suppose makes sense for the ones downtown or outside of bars. But Halal really does things right. The pita bread is thick, savory, and grilled to perfection; it's almost more like Naan, and is so much better than the thin, cold, cardboard-like generic pita most Middle Eastern restaurants serve. Ask for a side of creamy garlic sauce with your meal too; it's delicious! The hummus and babaganoush are also fantastic. Large portions for everything....

This is my favorite Halal Spot in Austin,TX so far

I've been eating here 4 years now- sometimes faces change in the truck which means sometimes the food changes slightly

But lately it's been the same unhappy looking guys in there hard at work- rocking out orders every 5 minutes it's seems - even late at night

I usually get the Chicken Swarma over rice extra sauce

Maybe some Babaganoooosh

Faladels are OK here- a bit dry most of time

Baklava is always good- but one time I went and got some Bakla- and it was different than anywhere ive gone- it had some Halva on top - it was so amazing I rushed back the next day and they didn't have anymore and the guy looked at me like I was crazy

This spot is also located in the neighborhood I grew up in since the 80s- so this block means alot to me- and I love eating outside

You'll see some characters for sure

I always wanna talk to the guys that work there- and hang out with them - but the never seem to open for chit chat

But when I'm in the mood for Halal in South Austin,TX - thus is were I go

Thanks Halal Gurus

Or Halal Hub- whichever you call...

I've been meaning to leave a review for some time now. My fiance and I love to explore new restaurants and foods. We came across The Halal Gurus and decided to take a look at the menu. We both decided on the #6 and when I tell you this was amazing! I now crave it. The rice and beef are always cooked to perfection with lots of flavor I love the salad that's included and the sauces are great! I say always because we've hit this spot up a few times now and we usually can't wait to get home so we sit in the parking lot to eat. I've never looked them up on maps but seeing the other options with pictures included makes me want to give another plate a try. If you love to eat and love good food with great portion size then I think you'd love this lil truck spot. The wait time is always quick. We usually have time to run to the store in the same parking lot and come out with our food waiting on us. Thank you gentlemen for your great service and awesome food. We definitely are repeat customers and will be back to try more. This spot is usually always poppin....
