I'm going to be honest here & share that I never had tried Raising Cane's, but kept hearing how good the chicken & their sauce is the best they have ever had & that I wouldn't regret it. Finally, I was debating either fish tacos which I've been craving or Raising Cane's which I also have been craving to try. I decided I'd rather drive 8miles the opposite way to go ahead & try Raising Cane's because honestly I wanted to try the sauce more so. I went to the Riverside location parked my car walked inside & placed my order. The staff was very sweet, helpful, & courteous. I looked at the menu, noticed that they only have 4 options to choose from. I'm guessing the most popular item is the Box Combo $7.71 which comes with 4 tenders, toast, medium drink, fries, Cole slaw, & the famous sauce; the 3 finger combo $6.93 which comes with 3 tenders, medium drink, fries, toast, & famous sauce; the Caniac combo $11.55 which comes with 6 chicken tenders, Cole slaw, fries, large drink, toast, & 2 famous sauce (which in my opinion is a lot of food, but hell yeah it comes with an extra sauce), and last combo is the sandwich combo. I liked how you are able to change the Cole slaw or toast or fries and change it for a different SIDE including their famous sauce. So, I dislike Cole slaw so I went ahead & got more fries also scratched the toast for more fries then ordered an extra sauce which was just an extra $0.37 & if you are wanting to upsize your medium drink to a large then that will cost an additional $0.20 more which is still cheaper than other fast food places. When my order was ready I got back in my car, drove towards the old back room, parked the car, & put on some Netflix & started trying the sauce first, then fries with the sauce, then the chicken with the sauce. Now I will have to admit that sauce is the best damn sauce I've had in a very long time. The chicken honestly was pleasing because it was actually real chicken, but in my opinion a lil dry & could've been in the fryer just less than a minute longer, but overall it was very tasty & delicious the chicken. The fries could've been fried maybe a minute longer. They seemed a lil soggy instead of the golden & firm fry is should've been. It was good mixed with their sauce & salt/pepper, but it just had the texture & appearance of fries that were placed in the oven not ones that were in any grease. The drink I got was a sweet tea & let me say it was good except in my opinion too sweet. Overall, I would like to say yes I would eat here again & it was still the best chicken meal then any other place here in Austin or any other location. I will continue to eat their...
Read moreThis particular restaurant is located in a very bad spot, but that’s not what this review is about. The drive thru itself is extremely tight and impossible to turn in a truck truck without banging against their built in caution poles. When we pulled up to order, I asked what their Cane’s sauce tasted like. The person taking my order replied with “we can’t give out the recipe, it’s confidential.” I then said “I don’t need the recipe, I just haven’t been here before so I wanted to know what the sauce is like,” (I’m a sauce girl) “is it like a ketchup/mayo combo, barbecue, thousand island, ranch… etc” she replied “no it has no ketchup or mayo in it, but again I can’t share my recipe.” Great, literally no help at all. I literally just wanted to know what it tasted like los Anyway, looked up the recipe after just because of how resistant and unhelpful she was, and it turns out it is made with mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire, pepper, and garlic. HA! Food was alright, nothing special. Menu could definitely use...
Read more6:45 P.M. East Riverside. The line was long. Austinites had their stimulus checks and the line of cars went around the block. An employee named Luis was stationed outside of the pick up window and He. Deserves. A. Raise. A. Bonus. I commend him so highly. HE is literally at the front line, by himself, in gloves and a mask and following all of our city mandates, at the highest risk point by taking food from the window and taking it up to our cars. I don't know how long he had been stationed out there, but my boy Luis deserves some form of compensation. I know the whole crew inside was working hard fulfilling our chicken tendie needs but Luis was one brave, exemplary employee who appears to meet and go above and beyond the Raising Canes mission and deserves that accolade in the way it counts - a promotion, a raise, a bonus. Whatever y'all gotta do. He is why we will come back, but we hope he can be provided with safer measures to keep doing his stellar, outstanding...
