Giving 1 star for this review. I had incredibly incompetent service experience. I pre-placed an online order 4 hours in advance, and even arrived 10 after the ready time (8:45) to make sure it was ready during the morning breakfast rush. I waited for 15 minutes after I arrived just for them to finally tell me they couldn’t find my order and they intended on remaking it. They found it on their order screen after the fourth employee looking for it. Little to no communication or customer service for the kitchen error on a $40 taco order. All other online and in-house orders were coming out like normal. Even watched people who ordered well after receiving my remake confirmation receive their food before me.Almost every employee just looked at me dumbfounded with no answers and kept asking me if I was sure my name wasn’t Jaclyn. I had the order confirmation and repeatedly asked if I could show them to have it remade, they said they insisted on no. Not the best first experience, Taco Deli. I’ll update after I’ve received my food. Update: Received my food at 9:30 AM. For the wait, I’m definitely not blown away. Very small tacos compared to other cities ( like SA and Houston) Food quailty.. maybe a 4 and that’s being generous because I respect places with multiple types of salsas. Meat (Sirloin and Barbacoa) is so/so not really...

Wow! So. Freaking. Delicious!! The ingredients are super fresh, the queso had amazing flavor and the tortilla chips were like none I’ve ever had! They were softer and had a consistency of Sun chips, but still softer and yet perfectly crunchy! So good! Tacos were delicious. I got the cowboy, but it was a little too spicy! Meat was perfection though! Only bad thing was the cost. For 4 tacos, 2 canned drinks and chips and queso it was $40! I mean maybe that’s average, but where I’m from it’s super high! But also, everything in Austin is super expensive I think. I will say it was worth every penny of it and I will probably visit again before I leave!

Update Stopped in for some breaky before I left…and it didn’t disappoint! Worth every penny!! I like the lunch dinner better, so if you only have one chance, go during lunch/dinner. Regardless, breaky was still amazing! Tacodeli, you guys need to think about coming to Lexington, KY!! The food is too good to go too long...

Shockingly terrible. I ordered the shrimpisito and shrimp taco. I got 4 small shrimp in each. Which barely filled the taco. One my tacos had a ton of barely cooked peppers to help mask the lack of protein in the taco. Crunchy bell pepper taco with a dash of shrimp. Gross. No cilantro or citrus on these tacos, the flavor is seriously lacking, I'd say theres barely even any salt. The tortillas taste like something walmart bought. Most taco joints around here make fresh tortillas or at least sell better quality than this for the same price.

Extremely disappointed to say the least. I hope this place closes shop so there's better lunch options near my office. Save your money, go to kebablicious food truck across the way or walk down the street to Torchy's. Or lick the sidewalk, thats free and its just as satisfying as this place was. Would give 0...

Taco Deli on 3rd & Congress is like the Whole Foods version of tacos — clean, fresh, and making you feel healthier even if you just ate three. It’s not Torchys-level chaos with wild combos like “deep-fried brisket lava explosion,” but hey, simplicity slaps sometimes. You’re paying about $4–5 a taco. The staff are absolute angels. Fast and friendly. It’s an Austin classic taco location, not flashy, not Instagram thirsty, just quietly, consistently good. Like that one friend who doesn’t party hard but always shows up with Advil the next morning.
