Wienerschnitzel — Restaurant in Austin

Decided to get a bite to eat when my car was getting worked on. Not much to pick from as I walked down the street. I chose Wienerschnitzel's thinking that I would like to have a wienerschnitzel since I hadn't had one in years.

The restaurant by the name of wienerschnitzel does not serve wienerschnitzel! I ordered a Polish sausage sandwich which looked pretty good on the poster. It posted some kind of wood smoked flavor by believe. I ordered it and when I lifted the bread saw that it was just a hot dog cut in half. I told the order-taker about the mix-up who told me she would take it back and have it redone. When she delivered the new sandwich she boasted that it had been made by the GM. And I thought to myself, great! I am sure that the GM would have grabbed the Polish sausage and not a hot dog when she made the sandwich. But when I looked at the bread it was the same sandwich. The order-taker, although she was very nice, insisted that it was a Polish sausage when it was absolutely a plain old hot dog!

There aren't any napkins out for customers to reach and you must ask for some, which I thought was quite odd. There weren't any other customers in the restaurant except for two who came when I was sitting there trying to force down the sandwich that I had paid for and didn't want to toss. I sent a picture to my kids of the sandwich and they begged me not to eat "that thing". I told my kids that I should have ordered a hot dog instead because they had a Coney dog and a chili dog etc, but I actually DID order a hot dog unbeknownst to me, of course! And apparently unbeknownst to the people who work there as well!!!!!!!!!!!

Was planning on taking my wife to taco Bell but saw this place next door so I stopped in to try it. And boy am I glad that I did the smores shake is definently as good as it looks. And closer to the real thing then most places I've been to so far. The Oreo freezee was amazing very Smooth with a whip cream topping. Me and my wife decided to try there $10 crowd pleaser which consists of three fries three hot dogs and three corn dogs. The fries lightly crispy not over salted but to specs. They were very good! Now to the good part! The hot dogs! Soo..these 6" ish dogs really put up a good fight. And are very delicious and big for the price! Very glad I found this place and I thank the older man manager for the excellent customer service. He also told me he had two new employees on the clock. They did great!! I'm glad to be a new customer!!...

It had been a while since I've had a wienerschnitzel hot dog, but my son had stopped here a couple days ago and then my wife was thinking about it as we were driving by and so we said screw it. Let's do it.

About 25 minutes till closed so the place is really clean. I hate bothering employees when I know they're going to have to clean up after me so close to closing so we made it easy. Got four hot dogs.

The wife went with a Chicago dog which was loaded with toppings.

I chose to get three chili cheese dogs with mustard.

Since I was 2 years old, I have been eating wienerschnitzel since I was two. I Will always Love these hot dogs. That being said, they have definitely increased their price a lot. You used to be able to get five chili dogs for $5.99 and now it's $6 for two with cheese.
