Summer Moon Coffee — Restaurant in Austin

Cute little interior and great tasting drinks; however, I was very turned off by their service.

We dropped by after lunch, it was a Saturday, and there was a crowd. I had no problem waiting, but we were waiting for a very long time. Pretty soon, the crowd got very big and a lot of people were waiting. They seemed very understaffed for the crowd that was drawn in. Two out of three orders for us were called out and we waited for mine, the 007. What I noticed was that the guy calling out orders was not raising his voice at all to tell people their order was ready. I don't even know if I would call it a normal voice. They need a microphone for this guy. We walked up asking for our order, and he said he had called out my order a long time ago and someone took my drink.

...o...k...? so what? I looked back at him. I told him I did not hear him and that I did not get my drink. He looked back at me and said, "well I called out your order. It was there, someone must have taken it. I can make you another drink, that's not a problem" in a very annoyed voice. I said "yeah, obviously, I did not get my drink that I paid for". His attitude just really got on my nerves. What kind of employee makes a customer feel responsible for missing their drink and also having someone else take it? Was I supposed to stand right next to him, wait for him to whisper my order out, and then get it?

He eventually made my order and called out my order a little bit louder for me to hear, with an attitude in his tone. Other than the highly displeasing service and experience, I thoroughly enjoyed my 007 on the rocks. I doubt I will be...

I've been a patron of this Summer Moon location now for almost two months, and I've enjoyed every single one of my visits there.

To start off with, the staff is absolutely wonderful and friendly, with one sweet gentleman (blonde, usually wears a reversed baseball cap) in particular really brightening my day when I've visited a few times thus far (he even wrote my name in Mocha on the top of my Espresso Milkshake, which brought a huge smile to my face

This coffee shop has restored my faith in humanity :)

In the past 2 days that I've visited this Summer Moon location, I've observed and received some of the most genuinely nice and professional customer service of my entire life! As a former supervisor of a well known coffee shop, I understand that the culture of any establishment depends on its leadership. And good leaders instill a sense of pride and value in the hearts of everyone on their team. It is apparent at this Summer Moon location that every team member is proud to represent themselves and the team to which they belong. And the cohesive yet diverse culture that they've created is truly something to be proud of.

Today, I felt compelled to share my positive experience with Tina (the manager) who humbly received the message.

In addition to the heartwarming and community oriented culture of this Summer Moon location, their drinks are superb!

In the past two days I've had a couple of their drinks. The hot Spiced Moon Chai with oat milk is creamy, perfectly spiced, and a nice way to usher in the mild September weather in Austin. And the iced Turmeric Green Tea is a light and refreshing afternoon pick-me-up.
