Read moreMy wife always raves about Cafe Smitten, but I haven't really been there or tried anything. However, today, that changed. My wife wanted to get a Mint Lemonade and I was hungry. So, we ordered ahead online for pickup and the one thing on the menu that really caught my eye was the Breakfast Burrito. Breakfast burritos are my favorite breakfast food and I also enjoy them throughout the day. So, I decided to give Cafe Smitten a chance and ordered their unique Breakfast Burrito (customized to my optimal preferences, of course).
When we picked up the food and I got my burrito, it was in a nice package, including being wrapped in foil to keep it warm. When I saw the actual burrito, I was surprised how much bigger it was than I expected! After the first few bites, I knew I had something special. It was packed full and the flavor was amazing. Additionally, one of my pet peeves about burritos is when the ingredients are not evenly distributed - and this burrito was the complete opposite of that. Everything was so evenly mixed that I got all the ingredients with almost every bite. About 2/3 of the way through the burrito, I was full - which, for those who know me, know that is a feat in itself. One thing I appreciated after eating it was that it was not greasy, like most breakfast burritos.
All day today I have been telling people how good that burrito was, so I decided to write a review about it. Thank you, Cafe Smitten, for such an unexpected...
Read moreI was hungry and passing by. I made a u-turn and went back because I hadn't seen the place before, and there were a lot of cars in the lot. I was checking out the menu board, and having some difficulty due to my old eyes. There were a couple of women in front of me. Some skinny guy with a beard got up from where he was chatting with another guy, and asked I think the ladies wanted to see a menu. He then barged in front of me, in reaching to get them their menus, and almost bumped into me in the process. He handed them the menus, and then went back to the table and struck up his conversation again. He said nothing to "me," didn't ask if "I" wanted to see a menu, no excuse me for coming close enough to make me move in order to get the ladies their menus, etc. The girl with the floppy hat and tats, at the register didn't made no effort to say something like "first time here," "can I answer some questions for," or anything similar. Felt very uncomforable, and at 10 bucks for a sandwich that's not what I want to feel before I order. So I split. Won't be back. Saving the appetite for happy hour at La Costa Mariscos. Much better service, great happy hour prices, and food already know to be of high quality. Smell you later,...
