We had been seeing videos in Instagram of the food here and are all about trying local food so we gave it a go. We circled the block several times to find parking-their parking lot holds 3-4 cars, 2 handicap spots, the rest is all street parking, which can be hard downtown. It looked fancier than I expected from the walk up to the door- tables pre set with stemless wineglasses and plates, cutlery...the menu options are small and for a brewery leave much to be desired. I ordered the Cali burger, wagyu, mushrooms, onions, cheese, one leaf lettuce and a thin tomato and lots of sauce. The bun was soft, the meat needed a little more seasoning in my opinion. The fries were thick cut spirals and the ketchup tasted homemade, almost cocktail sauce vibes. My soda was flat. My friend's opinion wasn't much different from mine....her experience- "Subpar at best" She had the triple B minus blue cheese one of the bees is blueberry compote. In her experience "you could barely taste the blueberry flavor and the bacon jam was salty and did not taste like bacon at all. For a burger with so many things, it was very bland. But the fries were delicious and the soda was flat." It didn't really meet the brewery vibe check, it wasn't even an elevated brewery vibe, like kicked up wings, nachos, etc...the food was pricey, service was okay- we didnt really appreciate the server coming to us with the "check" and telling us our totals verbally and never getting the receipt. I love downtown Bakersfield and I love to see new businesses come in and make our town beautiful and prosperous, and I do hope this place does well, but its not somewhere I'd...
Read moreSo weird they had reviews turned off and were only allowing 5 stars to post all week… Very excited there are more places opening in Bakersfield. Maybe I’ll try this place again in a few months.. the pizza dough is soft and fluffy, beers on tap and a full bar. I would describe this more as a family friendly restaurant rather than a brewpub. We came in expecting beer and brew vibes… it was like every meme of kids over running a brewery. Now that I know that’s the vibe I can have different expectations. They were slammed from just opening and the server did a great job keeping up and checking in on us. The potato ball appetizer was almost good but idk if there are just raw jalapeños in it, the heat just hit you and over took the whole dish. I didn’t try the burger but it was a would not order again from 2 of us. The Cali pizza was a hit and the potato pizza was great. Glad we tried it, not gunna be in the regular...
Read moreDecent service and really nice atmosphere for a new spot. You can tell they invested in quality decor and furniture. Definitely feel like it's kind of misleading to call yourself a brewery when the beer is clearly an afterthought. All tables were set with only cocktail and food menus. When we asked what beers were on tap, the waitress said they had four beers on tap - a hazy, stout, blonde, and seltzer(?). That being said, I did enjoy the hazy. The food was okay. Creative menu but execution was meh. Burger patty was kind of meatloaf-y and pizza was a bit soggy with one giant chunk of sausage on each slice (maybe sliced sausage or crumbles would be better?). Will give this place another try in a few months after they've had some time to get...
