The Real Italian is spectacular, but consistency isn't there when using delivery services, which is why I'm knocking down 2 stars.

Pros: The Real Italian, when prepared correctly, is delicious. So delicious that I ordered my second ever just 5 days after my first. The meats are high quality, the flavor is balanced, the vinegar and mild hots are delightful-- it's truly a perfect Italian sub. Sadly, my second had stale bread that was tough to bite into, and no vinegar/heat, making it a dry and sobering experience compared to the glory of my first experience. A dry sub also tends to be much more tasteless, especially when stale bread overpowers the experience.

The iced coffee is consistently delicious thus far. The meatballs are tasty and generously large. Overall, the portions are great, and the food is flavorful.

Cons: I've only ordered via delivery services and I've had a glaring issue both times. The first time, my partner ordered a vanilla latte along with our food, and we literally received a hot cup of milk. I'm not being dramatic about the amount of coffee-- there was just literally NO coffee. We received $6.50 sweetened milk. It was hilarious.

Of course, my second time I received a dry and stale sandwich.

Thankfully I got refunded for both items due to the delivery service I used, but it's not about the money-- it's about the experience I was hoping to have, and the disappointment thereafter. Easy fix, but it has deterred me from ordering delivery from here ever again, and I'm unlikely to go out of my way to drive here instead of somewhere else.

I'll miss my first Italian sub from here. I'll think of it from time to time, in...

I went there tonight to meet my husband at an outside table and from the street by the Ritz I heard arguing and thought there was a couple fighting on the pier—it turned out to be three older men at a table having a fight—one of the men was the angriest and calling his family member all kinds of foul names so the guy said he wasn’t going to take it. The tables are usually all full so I was glad these men had eaten their food and appeared about to leave. The man being yelled and cursed at left and the two other men settled down then got all crazy—having a nearby customer (me) didn’t inspire him to remain pleasant. I thought the manager might come ask them to keep it down. Out comes a server (or manager?) to my table and I nicely told him I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay because the arguing men still had not left. He said I should try being nice. I’m pretty sure the man loudly calling names at his family members and keeping customers from sitting down at the restaurant needed to learn to be nice. Needless to say my husband and I are enjoying ourselves at another restaurant here in the neighborhood, but what a disappointment—my friends and I had planned to come next week, too. I don’t care how good the food is, it wasn’t necessary for the server to say that to me. I have lived in the neighborhood for years and eat out frequently and I have never once posted anything negative about a...

Di Pasquale's is a Baltimore Italian legend. The newest location is a small Italian grocery store / bar / sandwich shop with limited hours. (They currently close at 6:00 p.m.) We sat at the bar and had a fantastic lunch... The cheesesteak is easily one of the best I've had in Baltimore. Their Italian cold cut is also fantastic. Service started off a bit grumpy and slow but improved. (It took about 15 minutes for someone behind the bar to look up and acknowledge our presence even though there were only four or five other customers at the time.) In addition to the bar and restaurant section there is a full-on Italian market with wonderful cold cutsand homemade lasagna as well as lots of basic Italian market style groceries. If you want to cook something Italian you can get everything you need here.... They also have a small selection of packaged goods including beer, wine and liquor.

I think it is a real shame that they close at 6:00 p.m. because I feel like this place could be a home run for happy hour.

This is a great start and ideal for the neighborhood. I am hoping it grows into itself! Under many circumstances I would have given this three stars but I think it has a ton of potential and the quality of the food outweighed any of the...

Leaving Philadelphia we planned to have a couple famous cheesesteaks, but the lunch crowd was so heavy we decided to stop somewhere else along our route home to NC. On a whim I searched up Baltimore restaurants featured on Triple D, and this sounded like a cool spot. Bonus there was a harbor front location. The food was incredible- cheese pizzas for the kids, a Tony Ruebino, The Real Italian, plus some gelato and tiramisu for dessert. Definitely better than the cheesesteaks we were going to have and am looking forward to stopping here to try the crab cakes and some other things on our next trip north. Just a couple things to note if you’ve never been here- This is a take out only place, it’s a market not a restaurant so if it’s a cold or rainy day know you won’t be eating inside. They’re in a pretty small space so if you’re a bigger person (like us) you will likely bump into someone or something at some point. The staff is really friendly and happy to help with any questions you have!
