At least the atmosphere is great. The rest broke our hearts. Not at all worth the price, and certainly not worth the time.
In order: They didn't have ingredients for a drink on their small cocktail menu. The waiter didn't write down an entree I guess (there were only two of us) and came back to ask what she ordered 15 minutes later. The food took 40 minutes to come out (again, two entrees: a salad and mac and cheese). The food is so concerningly bland I worry the chef might have long covid symptoms. The Mac and cheese with chorizo was super greasy and not flavorful at all (see pic - I threw up when I got home, and am writing this on the bathroom floor.) The salad was only edible with the salad dressing, and when we requested more the waiter came back and asked us what dressing it was (it wasn't a choice, it came with the dish. Do they not know their own menu?) It took 20 minutes to get the check. The check greets you with a welcoming, "NO REFUNDS", instead of a thank you, which shows they're planning for disappointment at this point but not improvement. At this time, the table across from us who was there before us finally got their food. It took 10 more minutes to come get the check, which involved a digital tool so leaving us the check at all was a pointless waste of time and paper. We didn't dare get boxes, though it's not like our waiter even asked. We were there for almost two hours for a really unenjoyable 15 minutes of eating before we gave up. This place looks so cute but there's a huge issue with the staff. These are actionable, solvable things I hope they fix with that gorgeous location. But as-is it's way too much time and money I can't get back. I just regret it....
Read moreOutpost used to have my all time favorite Mac & Cheese. It was creamy, very smooth and came out piping hot on account that it’s served in a mini cast iron pan. You could get it with meat and it has these great bread crumbs on top. I would go out of my way to tell people to get it along with recommending the restaurant as one of my favorites. My fiancé and I would each order our own since we didn’t like to share…it was that good. I’ve lived down the street for years and go regularly. When we went about a week ago we realized they changed the recipe. Far less creamy, and it had a strange aftertaste. Our waitress confirmed they changed the recipe and added in a different type of cheese. She also mentioned that another customer recently brought it up to her as well. No idea why’d you change something so great. No one in their right mind would think it was better or even close to the same quality as before. Not that it’s a big deal but I also received floppy gray celery sticks with my wings. GOD I hope they didn’t change the chef, and I hope they realize the error of their ways. The celery sticks I can forgive and they do have other solid items, but if they don’t change the mac and cheese back I doubt I’ll...
Read moreRandomly happened upon this cute spot on my birthday yesterday (a Tuesday). We dined in, at around 9pm. The vibe is very welcoming, as are the servers/bartender. They gave great suggestions and were one of the highlights of the experience.
My ONE complaint is that when I asked for a Bloody Mary, I was told they're only served for brunch. Which is a first for me. My husband was trying to coax our waitress into making it since it was my birthday but I shut him down. I don't like being the difficult guest. She did seem like she was going to try to make it, but I just picked the Not So Arnold Palmer (it was delicious).
We started off with the can of nachos. Wow. They were packed with flavor. 10/10 My husband had their daily special, which was Korean BBQ Chicken. It was divine. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I decided to try their Cubano (I love a Cuban sandwich and figured this sounded good). It was really, really tasty. I did discover that I'm not too big a fan of porchetta (a texture thing for me). All the flavors were perfect.
We will for sure be back to try their other offerings and I especially want to try their brunch so I can get a...
