We visited this place last night to get a few late-night drinks and not only got threatened and yelled at by some of the other patrons (probably drunk), we were kicked out by the management and they were rude to us for no reason. Very awful, scary experience.

It was late and we probably caught them during closing shift but the tavern was still pretty full of customers. The bartender was going around yelling "last call" but when we tried to order he yelled "no" and continued walking. I guess he was trying to wrap up for the night. So we decided to just hang out a bit while one of our friends finished going to the bathroom and my friend adam was chatting with a girl a table over and giving her his band information since they both were in start-up bands.

Suddenly one of the guys sitting at the other table got really angry and started saying threatening things to adam. Then looked over at our table and started insulting the rest of us. The shift manager came over to our table and told is if we didn't leave immediately we'd be kicked out, saying we hadn't even bought any drinks. We told him that we had wanted to buy drinks but they'd told us no but he wouldn't relent and told us we had to leave so we left.

Out back the same guys met us at the door and were clearly trying to pick a fight. Getting up in my and adam's face. Adam told him we meant no harm and didn't want too. Then one of the bartenders (a girl) came out the door and said we couldn't stand in front of the door. Never mind that we had been stopped at the door by these other guys. They never once said a thing to the other table or guys that had started and were clearly instigating everything.

We headed on but this experience was ridiculous. The other table and customers were clearly being aggressive toward us. Adam never once said anything threatening and had been trying to calm to guy down. But the management kicked us out and was very rude toward us on the excuse that we wouldn't buy drinks when we had already tried to order.

I will not be going back here anytime soon. Awful experience. The management should be ashamed for...

SADNESS. Stopped by with friends last night and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. One of the party ordered crab cakes which were excellent. My meal made me seriously wish I had just hit a McBurger Drive thru. Let's start with the waitress that managed to eventually bring us water after we asked twice (what's with the plastic glasses for water folks? Is it a rule that you only provide beer in a real glass or just too lazy to keep enough clean?) Miss? you might wanna decide to keep your notepad other than shoved under your armpit between a t-shirt and your sundress. Not a professional image, I assure you. I really wanted steak all day: Marie Antoinette - 6oz filet mignon topped w/ melted brie cheese & toasted almonds served on grilled french bread & crinkle cut fries. Looked perfect. I ordered it "bloody". What I got - eventually - was a chunk of unseasoned and over cooked cow (mignon has a line of gristle thru it???) on a soggy chunk of bread that looked more like a leftover kaiser roll than grilled french bread. this mess was kinda cowering under a couple slivers of wilted cheese that may have been brie and a sprinkle of almond slices. next to it was a handful of greasy frozen fires - no salt even! When I finally got the waitress' attention and pointed out that the cook apparently didn't understand what bloody means, she tells me she "told him 'rare'." That's nice sweetie, but doesn't address the problem. After staring at me vacantly for a bit finally asks if I want to send it back. Really? You just informed me that your cook can't cook and you don't give a damn. I had too hard a week for that BS - for 15 bucks, I had some crappy frozen fries with a serving of "who cares?" from the server for dinner. How can a place that has some of the best crab cakes ever suck so badly with other items? The upside? Beer was good, I had time with 3 of my favorite people in the world, and the cat liked her late...

Baltimore, Maryland (Fells Point) —-

Many years ago (25+), Fells Point bars like “Duda’s Tavern” were true local hangouts.

My visit today shocked me to realize, “Duda’s Tavern” is more a tourist bar, with tourist-sized portions & tourist-sized food prices nowadays.

I ordered their “famous” crab cake and was shocked at how “tiny” it was. The crab cake featured true premium lump crab meat, just the least amount of it, for such a high price I have ever personally experienced anywhere in the entire state of Maryland.

The side of potato salad was in a mini-sized portion container, barely wide enough for my fork to reach into the 3 bite-sized portion.

My feeling is “Duda’s” has been around since 1949 and they have found what works for them.

I am not saying I will never order their “appetizer-sized” crab cake again, just saying don’t expect not a “meal” for $27. At least bump up the side portion container.

Drink prices are quite fair to inexpensive. I will just try other menu items on future visits.

I do like “Duda’s” bar atmosphere with the vintage glass-block windows. I will return to “Duda’s Tavern” for a Natty Boh and some smiles, whenever I return to Fells Point.

Bartender “Matty” gets a “Run-A-Way Bill” thumbs up 👍.

Great local family-owned spot with extremely friendly and attentive service. The crab cake was very expensive ($30) but was really good, with large chunks of crab barely held together with a small amount of batter. However, I thought it should at least come with a salad or fries instead of a bag of chips and saltines for the price. The bartender/server was great though and made great recommendations for beers.

A true local gem with a welcoming atmosphere and an incredibly friendly bartender. The highlight of our visit was the crab cake—pure, unadulterated crab with no unnecessary fillers, just fresh, succulent crab meat encased in a perfectly crisp, golden-brown crust. Every bite was a delight! If you're looking for an authentic experience with great service and amazing food, this spot is a must-visit.
