Overall, not pleased with my shopping experience here. Some of this is on me for not being assertive enough.
First, I came in and no one greeted me, and it took five minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I was looking for shoes.
Second, I explained that I needed to be measured, that I was having issues with my stride and weight, and needed a wider shoe. It would have been sufficient to say "we don't generally have wide sizes" and just measured me. I still would have bought some socks.
Third, after I tried the shoes on, the sales person just said "walk around." I may be overweight now, but I've been a runner my entire life, generally with a specialty store the employee will evaluate your gait and make sure the shoe actually works.
It just felt like I was being rushed out the door, and now I'm left with a 165 dollar pair of shoes that STILL makes my feet hurt when I run more than 1.5 miles.
The employees were completely inattentive, but more than willing to chat with everyone else in the store.
Your mileage may vary, but I'm never coming back here. There are much better shops in the area where the staff will actually...
Read moreHands down the friendliest, most helpful, most encouraging shop I've been to in recent years. I've been training for a 5k and after getting blisters, I decided to go to an actual store and have a real person help me measure my feet and find the perfect running shoe.
I walked in to an extremely busy store (apparently they were finishing up an event), and decided to browse until the commotion died down. One of the staff checked in on me and after I explained why I was there, said to take a seat on the bench when I was ready. She soon helped me realize I had bought a half-size too big, and the friction was causing the blisters. After that, she chose three similar-cushioned shoes in my size, and I fell in love with the pair of New Balance running shoes she'd picked out.
Turns out, the woman was actually the store lead (Meghan) and she graciously said I could take advantage of the discounts that had been part of the event I'd walked into earlier. The rest of the staff were amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable, and extremely supportive of my improvements with running. I can't wait to visit them again for more gear and...
Read moreThis is my second time going to charm city run and both times were fantastic.the staff are knowledgeable about shoes and feet, and cater to your personal needs. I told them I run 10 miles a week and need a shoe with a wide toe box. I also mentioned that they double as my work shoes, I work in a hospital/laboratory setting standing on hard cement floors all day. The worker asked several follow up questions, assessed the tread and wear on my previous shoes and helped recommend some options based on this information. We landed on the Hoka Bondi shoes since they have maximum cushion for standing on hard floors, to help protect my feet and legs . I have been wearing them for a week at work and can attest that this was a great choice. I can stand in these shoes for hours and feel 100% supported. Also love the color. If you're like me, good color schemes are essential for my running shoes....
