So I just wasn't impressed by this place I was expecting it to be more than it wasā€ Only thing that was amazing was the flourless chocolate cake. The food was okay and it was lacking a little bit of fresh salt and pop off flavors. The mussels were 4 stars as well as the spicy feta dip but what gave it 3 stars was the entrees. This place seems like a good spot to get beer and wine ONLY since they don't have a full bar and some happy hour food. My sandwich was good but it was drenched in oil from the pesto pasta salad. My friend's steak potatoes and spinach was good but needed some flavors and salt. And I'm not even crazy about salt. Oh and the steak camber out medium even though he ordered rare... Plus the spinach was just warm which is annoying. The waitress tried to take my friends whole plate away to warm up the spinach but we ended up putting it on a plate and they came back with a new one, thankfully they didn't microwave it. But overall if I lived closer I would go back probably but with all the competition in the area I would go somewhere else.

My husband and I liked aspects of SoBo and didn't like other aspects. Our waitress was extremely personable and willing to discuss the menu, but was fairly absent after our food arrived. All of the other staff seemed super rushed as well despite the empty tables, so not sure if there was something going on or what. For food, we ordered the corn flatbread, salmon nicoise, and rubbed steak. The flatbread with added jalapenos was good. I really enjoyed the salmon nicoise, but it was definitely VERY expensive at $24. The big disappointment was the steak plate. The steak came thickly sliced and appeared to be a cut of flank, rather than something more marbled/tender. While the potatoes were good, the creamed spinach was a warm, unseasoned puddle. It wasn't gross by any means, but for $27, we expected a lot better. All-in-all, we'll probably return at some point, but will avoid the entrees because the higher price point doesn't seem worth it compared to the quality of what you get for similar priced dishes elsewhere.

We had a tremendous exquisite experience celebrating all the birthdays in July for our family. Our waitress Maira was phenomenal, patient and kind. She made the occasion even more special by her being so sensitive and caring. The ambiance , the decor, the bathrooms and the layout of the restaurant is beyond gorgeous. The food was great and the way it is platted made it even more mouthwatering and desirable for the tongue. The owner Anna was friendly and you can tell she is a wonderful human being just by the way she treats her internal guests, her staff and us, the patrons. Overall we are happy we made the stop and treated ourselves to the wonderful experience we had. Definitely a place to stop if you are visiting, or life in Maryland.

Horrible experience!!!!!!!šŸ˜• we was first excited to check this place because it was recommended to us for a great vegan experience in Maryland (which was NOT the case!)only to get to the door and watch the staff rudely look at us threw the glass doors and simply ignore us. I had some business colleagues that I also referred there as we was supposed to meet and get a nutritious warm meal but instead we all had to have a last minute change of plans because we would come to realize that SoBo cafe stood for So-Be-OUTSIDE cafe and what's even more disheartening than that was it was exactly next door to the AirBNB in which we stayed. This could have turned into a very profitable weekend for them because I was in Maryland for a business conference and was asked which place should I place all of 300+ Vegan staff who by the way are all professionals in multi media and great tippers should go to eat. But after that experience I redirected them all to The House of Kush (We packed their place for hours actually until closing) and was greeted warmly and who by they way was very excited to see all of us from across the globe patronize their world famous restaurant. I recommend them for some delicious comfort food without the guilt.

The only thing I wish is Google had a less than one star button because that would be a more accurate description of...

I reached out to Linda, the owner, about a reservation during happy hour for 10 people. I wanted to host a get-together for some colleagues coming to town, but we weren't a big enough group to warrant renting a room or a restaurant buy-out. Naturally, I never heard back from many of the restaurants I reached out to. However, Linda emailed me back almost immediately (despite having an out of office up, so she must've been on vacation or away!) and set us up for 10 people during happy hour. We communicated a few times before the date and she accommodated a request to sit outside.

We all had SO MUCH FUN! The food was excellent (we ordered all of the starters on the menu so I can speak to this lol), the service was fabulous, and the bill was so reasonable. Also, my non-Baltimore colleagues appreciated the short walking distance from the convention center and the true "Baltimore" vibe, as opposed to the other events that were held in spaces with less character.

If you have a medium sized group or need somewhere fun to plan a get together, SoBo cafe is the way to go. I cannot wait to come back! Thank you so much to Linda, Myra, and the others on the team for taking such...

I’ve visited SoBo Cafe numerous times and I’m always amazed how easy it is to make a reservation or walk-in and find a table. I attribute this ease to the young locals interested in obnoxious music volumes and Red Bull cocktails.

My favorite night is Thursday burger night. Always a treat with fantastic ingredients and a new configuration.

Yesterday evening I sat down and started with their vermouth cocktail. I serve them at home and it is a nice aperitif to begin a meal.

I find the soups always wonderful and lean towards their seasonal choice, but veered towards the onion soup and wasn’t disappointed. I mentioned it will now be difficult ordering anything else.

For my main entree I ordered the pork chop, accompanied by sweet potato fries, broccoli raab, and applesauce. The chop was perfectly cooked and combined with the applesauce was delicious. I enjoyed my meal with a wonderful local porter beer (so tired of IPAs trying to out-bitter each other).

Great food, ambience and service. Varied and tasty menu accommodating all the hyper-sensitive...
