Wendy's — Restaurant in Bangor

We got the $5 and $6 meal deals. The deals come with a couple different choices of burger or chicken along with 4 piece nugget, fries and medium drink. An excellent deal and plenty of food. We had the Chicken BLT and the Jr bacon cheeseburger. My friends nuggets had five and mine had six. They were nice and piping hot. The food was excellent. The service was mediocre at best. We were in kind of a hurry and had to wait at least ten mins for our food. It was not busy at all though there were a few to go orders being picked up. Everyone seemed a bit confused and was working in slow motion. It took the cashier about 3 mins to pour a lemonade for an order a door dash driver was picking up. My friend and I kept looking at each other like what the heck? The guy making the sandwiches had pants around the tops of his thighs and looked very confused. I used to work in fast food also customer service and shift management for many years. I wanted to go behind the counter and encourage them and help them put some hustle in. Received my order wrong, but it's ok. Wrong sandwiches, but they were good. I like a little adventure, try something new. So I didn't get what I ordered but I'm not mad about it, it happens. One HUGE concern was the ketchup pump located directly over the trash, where if someone throws trash in, it could splash up on the underside of the nozzle and welp, I guess it's a dollop of ketchup with a side of garbage juice, it's a design flaw that could possibly get someone sick. I'd say I get the concept, easy cleanup. But if it was moved away from the top of the trash and just a drip tray, the tray could be easily cleaned. The soda had a few selections missing, but it's ok. Don't drink much soda. The staff were SUPER friendly. The design of the restaurant even though newer actually felt cramped and confusing. That's a design flaw in traffic management. The design actually makes you feel a bit unwelcome. The staff were great, just the store layout didn't feel so. Overall an ok experience , I think whomever designed the new layout made it look good on paper, but practically it doesn't work. Lots of windows but like I said still feels cramped...

The only reason why you're missing one star is because I feel like Wendy's franchise quality has dipped down a little bit. Occasionally I get the bacon biggie burger. I remember years ago that I would get an endorphin rush when I ate it. I remember it being so good. Now it seems like the meat quality has changed and definitely the bacon was rubbery. My first bite all the bacon came out. I squeezed down and now my fingers are starting to go through the bread. I know this happens occasionally. You can't control exactly how meat is going to be but it just feels like Wendy's no matter where I go in the country is just dipping down a little bit since years of before. If you guys want to really step up your game and gain a whole bunch of customers, go eat a double bacon burger at Jack in The box in Hawaii. I don't know what they do but it's the best burger every time. I went back last summer and tried it and I almost ordered another burger just so I could eat for taste.
