The picture doesn’t do it justice in any way - both the amount and the quality of the lobster in these rolls bordered on outrageously gluttonous. Multiple full claws of lobster meat flanked by huge chunks of tail on ONE lobster roll. I got the small roll and could barely finish half (for reference, that was on an empty stomach, and at a different restaurant last night I ate a whole lobster roll [sad lobster roll, in hindsight, by comparison], cornbread and some other small bites on a semi-full stomach). This roll was meaty, juicy, sweet - it was everything you hoped you would get in Maine, and more, actually. My boyfriend got the large roll and barely finished it - highly atypical for a guy that usually consumes 2 dinner-sized entrees. The moral of the story is - do it. There isn’t a better roll around and I tried quite a few places around whose reviews boasted “the best lobster roll on the island/in my life” - they clearly haven’t been here or have subpar expectations. We got the hot roll - it really lets the lobster meat speak for itself, as it is otherwise just a hot dog bun and butter - and this really is the best lobster roll you’ll ever get. Also, I expected a line out the door considering the reviews but shockingly no line at all at 11:30 in the morning. Walked right in, ordered, waited outside for maybe 3 minutes, and was brought my order. They do provide you with a blanket to sit and eat on the hill overlooking the bay, which is a wonderful aesthetic and really adds to the dining experience. There is not any indoor seating so if that is a dealbreaker for you then it’s your loss. I’d sit on a bed of nails if that was what was required to get this roll, but, you do you.

Opens late, closes early and has such a high rating. Tripadvisor somewhere said this is the best lobster roll place around. Got 2 full lobster rolls. Pretty expensive but also incredibly packed with lobster. Also got the lobster Mac and kind of regret getting the full roll. Was way too much lobster! Lobster Mac and cheese is a must try if you want a sharp Mac. No seating indoors. Just walk in and order, then line the sidewalk outside like the others who've ordered inside. There's some blankets they lend out if you want to eat in the park across the street. Though I just walked down to the pier and eat at a picnic table behind the Whale co and Sunrise cafe. Surprised there's so few reviews. Seems like a bunch of people on the sidewalk stopped to look since there's what looks like a line out the door onto the sidewalk of people waiting. When stopping, several people remarked this was the place they were looking for. I'm guessing they all saw it on Tripadvisor or other online travel sites. Happy I tried it but wish I got a half roll instead.

Holy lobster mac & cheese! I know that most people come here to get the lobster rolls, but after splurging and having a lobster roll pretty much every day while I was in Maine, I wanted to switch things up. So for a late lunch, I decided to try the decadent lobster and white cheddar mac & cheese. This was the epitome of comfort food and luxury decadence. I appreciated that it was white cheddar mac & cheese and none of that artificial orange stuff. They piled the piping hot fresh lobster meat on top and I took my dish across the street and enjoyed it in the park. So if you are craving lobster, but want to switch it up from the traditional lobster roll, I cannot recommend the lobster mac & cheese enough. This is a take away spot, so there is no in-house dining, but the service was extremely fast and friendly.
