Literally the best food in Bastrop, aside from Store House/Eden East, imho, but even then, it's apples and oranges. I ordered the Lamb Tibs with veggies, and a lemonade. This was my first time eating Ethiopian/Eritrean food. Consider me a lifelong fan! All of the flavors are balanced so well. If you enjoy middle eastern or indian food, or gyros/shawarma, then you'll love this place. The Lamb Tibs were beautifully spiced and savory. The beets were simply roasted or boiled, yet their natural sweetness perfectly complimented the rest of the meal. I didn't bother to ask what the other veggie sides were, but one seemed similar to collards/mustard/chard greens, and the other seemed similar to curry potatoes, or aloo gobi. Both were, again, perfectly seasoned. The Injera was a pleasant surprise, and the perfect tortilla-like vehicle to enjoy with every bite of the meal. The lemonade is well balanced. Not too sweet, just the right amount of tart, and garnished with mint, which subtly perfumes the lemonade in a pleasant way, specifically during this brutal summer we've been experiencing. These people know what they're doing, and they do it well. You can actually taste the Love they put into their food in every bite. I am not being paid to type this, and I have never met these people, other than through their food. Bastrop is lucky to have this place! A true hidden gem! Go check them out now! They're currently open 7...

I first had Abyssinia’s food at the Empty bowl benefit and they were one of my very faves out of 40+ soups offered by local restaurants. I don’t know why it took me so long to park in the back lot and go try their food at their restaurant, but I decided to give it a go today and it did not disappoint! This was wonderful and I’ll be back again to try something else! I had the Tibs plate with chicken and everything was just seasoned to perfection. I’ve never had Ethiopian food other than their soup, so I wasn’t sure if I would like everything, but it was all excellent. I noticed they also have vegetarian and vegan options, and I can’t wait to bring my daughter-in-law here the next time she comes to visit. It’s 102 degrees this afternoon and it’s just so hot! That said, the covered patio area of this food truck park with fans was not uncomfortable until I was finished eating. I am writing this review from my air-conditioned...

Came with my boyfriend last night and it was our first time there but we grabbed a bit of everything! This was the most delicious food I’ve had in such a long time. So fresh and made with so much detail and such delicious flavors! We grabbed like 3 different entrees and THE HOMEMADE ice cream and popsicles are amazing ! Last thing we tried was the lemonade and we loved it. She creates lovely dishes and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her creations! We’re hispanic and hadn’t had freshly made and delicious food like that in so long . I will be coming every week 🙏🏻 so glad I gave it a try as I always come to bayz seafood truck there, THEY DEFINITELY topped them , #1 ! They’re my new favorite...

I have been strictly vegetarian for five years, and the Vegan & Vegetarian plate was truly some of the most fresh and delicious food I have ever eaten! The value of the meal was great as well. I had not ever had the chance to try Ethiopian food before, and I’m so glad accidentally stumbled upon this food truck. Also, the woman running it was very kind. I also tried their fresh-squeezed lemonade, and it was absolutely wonderful with a little fresh mint. I stopped by at about 1:30pm on a Sunday, so the food court was very peaceful. Overall, this was one of the most beautiful, fresh, and healthy tasting meals I have ever had. The photo speaks for itself. I highly recommend Abyssinia Cafe.

This place is SO GOOD!! Food tastes fresh and delicious. Look at all this meat I got! The lamb was spicy and seasoning was perfect! Will definitely return. The lady working was very sweet and adorable, too. Some of the best food in Bastrop. Can't wait to try other dishes. Also, the flatbread is GLUTEN FREE. Highly recommend.
