Beignet Baton Rouge - Perkins Rd — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

The 4.3 stars seem a bit generous to me. My family and I ate here to kill time before my son's Basketball camp started. We ordered a few quick bites and here is our take on each:

Food Beignet Fingers - No real taste to them except for the powdered sugar. They were very airy which was nice but the Beignet batter seemed like it was missing an ingredient, maybe salt?

The hash rown bowl was fine, I don't feel like it was very special, just regular hashbrown, scrambled eggs on top and my bacon was cumbled on top. It also had an extra ingredient that I didn't ask for, hair. I didn't make a fuss, I pulled out the hair and discarded the portion of the food exposed to it. But the only flavor I got came from the cheese and bacon. I had to add salt pepper and Ketchup.

My husband had bacon, eggs, and 2 beignets. When I say airy, they were completely hollow inside and shared the same flavoring as the beignet fingers...none. The powdered super were the saving grace.

The coffee was fantastic. I had a cappuccino and the hubby had a latte. We were very pleased. I'd highly recommend making sure you grab a cup.

Venue The restaurant was very clean as was the bathroom. It was really cute inside with about 6 tables or so.

Service The service was fine. We were promptly greeted entering and acknowledged when exiting.

All in all, I think they need to go back and evaluate their beignet recipe or do something to ensure consistency if this was a one off experience. With Beignet in the name of the restaurant, I expected more. Also, they may want to considering adding something to the flavor profile of the hashbrown and eggs as well.

I probably will not be back, but I do think they have the potential to be really good, just not...

The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, complementing the dish beautifully. Every bite delivered comfort and flavor in equal measure.

I had a solid experience here. I ordered the beignet breakfast with 1 regular and 1 strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry cheesecake came heavily recommended and it did not disappoint. I rated the overall meal as a 9/10. Very great flavor and not excessively sweet. Perfect amount of stuffing. The eggs were a great texture and the grits had a nice flavor(they are on the thicker side with is preferable to me). My only discrepancy was that my order was served wrong but I was patient and communicated this with one of the workers. He quickly apologized and not only made corrections for his mistakes but also sent me home with 3 extra strawberry cheesecake beignets! No one is perfect in service but how you respond to mistakes says a lot about your business mentality. I’m excited to come back and try some more of their beignets.
