O’Hara’s Irish Pub
Located at 136 3rd Street in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, O’Hara’s Irish Pub is a charming addition to the Area. This pub, which recently opened in the former location of Happy’s Irish Pub, offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that pays homage to its predecessor while introducing its unique flair.
Ambiance and Decor: The pub has retained many of the beloved features from Happy’s, including the plaques and tabletop graffiti, giving it a nostalgic feel. The renovations, including new draft lines and a planned outdoor pergola, add a fresh touch to the familiar setting. The deep cleaning and updates make the space feel both cozy and revitalized.
Food and Drinks: O’Hara’s offers a great selection of drinks, with a focus on quality drafts. They also host outdoor food pop-ups on Sundays, which is a fantastic way to enjoy local flavors while relaxing with friends. The pub’s commitment to maintaining a high standard for its beverages is evident in the newly installed draft lines.
Entertainment: Live music is set to return to O’Hara’s, promising to bring vibrant energy to the pub. Despite previous noise complaints at this location, the new owners are working closely with neighboring businesses to ensure a harmonious environment. This dedication to community relations is commendable and adds to the pub’s appeal.
Overall Experience: O’Hara’s Irish Pub is more than just a place to grab a drink; it’s a community hub where patrons can feel at home. The motto “Welcome Home” truly resonates as you step into this inviting space. Whether you’re a former Happy’s regular or a new visitor, O’Hara’s offers a delightful experience that blends tradition with modern updates. From Friday to Saturday, it is one of the busiest places I have seen so far, buzzing with energy and...

The bartenders are great - attentive and helpful, they seem genuinely happy to be there. Management makes the appropriate adjustments for nights they know there will be larger crowds (Tuesday's run club, Mardi Gras nights, and big events). They have done an amazing job at getting good bands back in the establishment, and some bands have told me how refreshing it has been to work with this bar as opposed to the prior place. As a Tuesday night regular, the taps are almost always ready, they still have a good rotation going, and the lines move quickly because they are well staffed. They did a great job fixing some of the damage done by the prior place, and they are working to make the bar even better. Trust me, THIS is where...
Read moreGoooooood lawwwwd! We have been going to Live After 5 for a decade or more. The previous irish pub in this location was our go to stop before the concert. But a draft beer cost us $12 EACH! And that was not some exotic rarity. That was a local Abita. The same beer at the other pub was $6. That may have been a year ago. But inflation is not 100%! $12 for a local draft beer is beyond ridiculous. Aren't the other guys across...
