I met a few of my friends at the Piccadilly around 1050 am. They open at 1100. Two of us decided to go to the restroom before lunch and lifted up the entry barrier rope and was walking towards the restroom, when we were confronted by two employees. One was the floor hostess. The other a kitchen employee, Both denied us entry in rude tones. The kitchen employee threw up his hands and said â hey I just work here â I told them no problem, we were just going to the restroom. We were still denied entry. I said no problem.
Prior to eating, we did go to the restroom. I noticed that the toilet had a sign out of order. The serving personnel was nice and we proceeded to a table. When the hostess brought the condiments, it was very clear how rude she was. The food was luke warm at most. During lunch, my friend asked for some more napkins, and the hostess said, in a very rude tone, I already brought you some. He told her I need a few extra anyway. She begrudgingly brought some more out.
During lunch, I noticed one of the same serving line employees, who specifically served me the turnip greens and Mac and cheese, was the same employee I noticed headed to the same bathroom with a toilet plunger. A few minutes later he exited. Needless to say I lost my appetite after that. A few minutes later we left.
Now granted maybe we shouldnât have lifted up the barrier rope, but after telling them all we wanted to do was go to the bathroom, there shouldnât have been a problem. Iâve been to this same Piccadilly many times before and alway had a pleasant experience.
Everybody wants to blame Covid for employee issues, but in this case Covid had nothing to do with being rude to customers, and or serving employees attending to a...
Read moreTry somewhere else. You will thank me later. It saddens me so much to write this review. I can remember eating at Piccadilly sometimes several times a week when I grew up in Houma, LA. My mom used to take my sister and I for a meal while my dad worked late. Even as a grew up, moved to New Orleans, and then Baton Rouge, I would always frequent whatever location was closest at the time. It was always about the nostalgia and positive memories for me, but both the food and the staff were always consistently good back then. While most of those locations unfortunately are no longer around, I still visit the Essen Lane store routinely - well that is until today. The food and particularly the service have decreased to such a low level that it is no longer worth it to go back. This time I visited for takeout around 1:30pm and the majority of the food looked terrible and appeared stale. How is the possible at 1:30pm? There were only two staff members on the line, both rude and rather ghetto to be completely frank. Why are they allowed to lean on the walls and line? I have never seen this before. The âmanagerâ was checking people out at the end of the line and after observing how she handled another guest who was complaining, I can see why the staff appear disinterested. Itâs like no one is accountable any longer or interested in providing a positive experience. Itâs really too bad they have let it go so much. Doubt Iâll be back and would suggest you...
Read moreI visited Piccadilly on Essen Lane in Baton Rouge, La. two weeks ago. I really appreciated the smiles, kindness, very clean, and great service from the young ladies, who were on the serving line. You don't get this kind of service a lot today from young ones. This was shown from the beginning of the line to the cashier who was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, with a smile. We also had a great waitress. I appreciated the service so much I asked to speak to the manager. I felt that this experience need to be addressed, because usually when a customer ask to speak with the manager it involves an complaint. So why not share when you have a good experience with the manager. I was very glad that I did, it helped me to see why this Piccadilly have such an Awesome staff, because the manager is very Kind, friendly and was making sure I had everything that was needed. She also was taking care of overseeing the food line was filled and together. Excellent management is KEY, because it help keep a good business going, make customers happy and keep them coming back, you definitely have what it takes, it shows not only with you but your staff and that's very important. Thank you and your entire staff for giving me and my family excellent service and great food. We will definitely come back when we...
