PJ’s in downtown Baton Rouge was a sad and bad experience. At the door, I knew we should have turned around but didn’t because we set out looking specifically for a PJ’s. The shop was in disarray with chairs strewn about, unwiped counters and tables, finger-printed glass doors, and with scant offerings in the pastry case and slim coffee options. They didn’t even have New Orleans signature coffee with chicory. Worst of all, they used flimsy coffee cup tops which came flying off and spilled steaming coffee on us and everywhere. Not even a “too bad, so sad” from the server. All he said was that’s been happening all the time since corporate sent these new cheaper lids. Not to mention the prices were outrageous. Never again. Next time I’ll believe the reviews which already had given only 3.5 stars for this location, and that, like my two stars, was generous. You’ve been warned, choose someplace else —...
Read moreI think some CC's employees must be writing the previous reviews because I had the polar opposite of an experience at this location. Very friendly staff, attentive and quick. I had a cappuccino that was delightful and a freshly made (not pre made wrapped) HOT sandwich. Be careful with reviews people. Only the bad ones ever get through. This place wasn't perfect but it was about normal for the food service industry. I gave them 5 stars only because so many gave incredibly low scores. I have been to CC's and Starbucks. CC's coffee isn't as flavorful and Starbucks feels like a yuppie joint. So in a real world scenario (without any predisposed bias) this shop was a decent 4 stars. Get a little...
Read moreI've been to several PJ’s from New Orleans to Houston, TX and this one is the worst by far. I'm used to the server asking if I would like Carmel drizzle and whipped creme, not the other way around. My praline and creme latte with an extra shot taste like water. I don’t think an extra shot was added, but it wouldn’t have changed the taste. I threw it away, it taste horrible. They should probably staff more than one person on Saturday mornings, and maybe customer’s can get quality service. This coffee originated in Louisiana, but I'm waiting until I return home (Houston) for better coffee. I know PJ’s is franchised but they still should uphold PJ’s...
