I just had the absolute worst dining experience here tonight. Our waitress was very snotty from the moment we sat down. I am not the type to complain, I always give people the benefit of the doubt, even think-maybe they are just having a bad day but nope I’m not gonna let this go. We arrived a little before 6pm she took forever to come to get our drink by the time she came back happy hour was done ( 6:10 happy hour ended at 6 ) my friend asked if she order something off that menu still she firmly said “no definitely not”. Okay that was rude but that’s not even a big deal. We order and get our food. My other friend ordered the brisket quesadilla and she took one bite and said it was horrible. She asked me what should she do, I said tell her maybe you can get something else. She told her it didn’t taste good and asked if there was anyway she could get a chicken one instead. The waitresses response was- “definitely not you will have to pay for both. You need to know what you are ordering at a restaurant because we don’t waste food around here!.” My friend was blown back by the response and said okay well can you take some money off or something bc I do not want this. The waitress said we don’t do that but I’ll take it and I’ll let you know. She was super snotty. Took the plate away. She came back and again told us- We needed to know what we are ordering from now on bc you can’t just order food and not pay! What? We are not even the type to ever do that. My friend said she had brisket before and it never tasted like that before and then the waitress put her hand in my friends face and said “oh no we are not doing that”. Right like 4inches from her face! I said I have never felt disrespected at a restaurant before like this and she responded back with “me either!” all snotty. We asked to speak to a manger she replied I’m right here. We said okay and just didn’t say anything and she walked away. We asked the hostess by our table was our waitress was the manager and she replied no! Our waitress straight up lied to us, was so disrespectful and rude. I felt super uncomfortable like she was gonna try to fist fight or something with us. Everytime she came back I was so uncomfortable she was grabbing stuff really fast, giving dirty looks it was so horrible. Finally I complained again to the hostess and another lady came over her name was Lindsey and thank god 🙌🏻 she apologized for her and took over our table. All the other food was great and we come here often bc we really do enjoy the food and atmosphere. I feel like I have never been disappointed and disrespected in my life esp over a quesadilla at that! Now if I come back here and see the waitress named Priscilla I will turn around and definitely not eat there! Also my niece got a video of how...
Read moreBottom line: this place serves the kind of food that earns the "art" part of culinary arts. Visually appealing without needless garnish, purposeful and unique flavor pairings, meticulous attention paid to texture and moisture. It took some time to get the food, and the prices triggered an eyebrow raise, but the freshness/quality of the offerings more than earned the wait time and price tag.
Our server was Emily. She had great knowledge of the menu, nailed the balance between being attentive but not overbearing, and she had a great contagious attitude.
The tofu steak appetizer: the best tofu I've ever had. Crispy grilled exterior mixes with green onion and what I think is a soy sauce? Hits perfect. 10/10
Thai Chicken Satay: I don't know how this measures up to other chicken satay, but the flavor combination was incredible and memorable. Unfortunately I don't really have the vocabulary to describe it it. Grilled chicken with a sweet peanut sauce and a slightly spicy onion/pickle vegetable bowl. Don't know how, but it works.
Chicken Tandoori: You like Indian food? Give this a shot. Nice fat, moist, chicken thighs spiced up like a marsala served with pickled red onion and a sauce they call a mint parsley yogurt. I call it effing delicious.
Top it all off with the flourless chocolate cake. It's a thick moist slice, the kind that would make a satisfying PAP! if it were dropped on the floor. It almost feels like a fudge. This thing really shines when you dip it in the raspberry sauce and minty whipped cream. Yet another amazing flavor pairing that my ape brain would have never dreamed up.
The absolute WORST thing about this place is that I hear they want to get rid of the tofu...
Read moreFirst time I went the burger was excellent but the fries were like the bottom of the bag little peices and overcooked. (like hard candy) The greek Nachos were amazing. Second time I got the Orange chicken which was tiny peices of chicken and overcooked and the rice was not real good. (I seen pictures someone posted of their orange chicken from there all though it was awhile ago and that didn't look the what i was served it looked great) My freind got a burger that looked great and the fries were actual whole curly fries and looked great. Third time my burger was overcooked to the point of black burnt char skin on it and kinda hard to swallow haha. My friends Mojo tacos were like chewing rubber but her rice and beans were great. Other friend ate less than half thier burger. They get real busy real fast after opening and I think maybe the food sat up in the heat warmer to long as it took so long after ordering to get it and it was served by a runner. Drink glasses sitting there empty most of time. The desserts were great. Seems like a reaaly good menu that would be top notch if executed right. (And i'm sure it is alot of the time as so many people are there.) Seems kinda like one of those hit or miss places so for me not a go to place or a restarant I will go back to rolling the dice on 50 bucks + for two to see if the food comes out good. I wish them the best...
