Second visit here. The first after placing my order I requested a refund. The hostess/cashier was eating chips out of the bin between customers. I asked for a refund. My item was refunded. Less the tip. The manager assured me he would speak with the hostess. That was relight around the time they opened. I decided to give them a second chance. It is definitely a gourmet taco shop. The side dishes of slaw and beans are super small. There were numerous tables that were not clean with trash and trays on them. They were not very busy and every one was in the kitchen chatting. It looks like a great establishment but the service falls short. There was a lot of meat in the tacos. We ordered pulled pork and brisket. I ate about 1/2 of each and the meat was just chewy and tough. As per some of the other reviews. I agree. It seems be more “to go” focused. Not dine in.

Very nice store front restaurant in downtown Bay City. Higher end food in a nice setting. If you are looking to gulp down a cheap, unimaginative lunch, this might not be the place for you. These are not your parent's tacos; that's for sure. Gourmet smoked meat tacos (No ground beef, lettuce and cheese here) Well prepared and tasty, tacos come out fresh and hot with toppings that complement and enhance the the proteins. Order at the counter and food is brought to the table. All food brought in disposable containers. (taco truck style) All food is ala carte, with a limited number of well executed sides. Dinner for 4 with sodas, 2 sides and 2 appetizers (house made tater tots were luscious) came to about $12.00 per person. No dessert available yet. Looking forward to going back for the Trough of nachos.

YO! This is excatly what Bay City needs! This place is so delicious! Absolutely amazing! Everything tastes fresh. All the tacos are filled with the right portions. The Rib meat taco is my favorite. The mango strawberry salsa just works here. I can't explain it. It's awesome! The Mac and cheese is creamy and smooth with the right amount of crunch. Texas taters are made fresh to order and they are seasoned to perfection. Not to salty, not bland. This is a must stop for not just bbq lovers, but food lovers! The staff, the atmosphere and the quality of care for food is so refreshing. This city desperately needs more places like this. You know when you travel to other towns to hit up those trendy spots, well this is one of those spots!

BarqueBC is a great example of a restaurant continuing to improve upon its craft. I ordered takeout the first week they opened with the expectation that they were going to be ironing out the kinks with each order.

My first experience there proved to be just that. I ordered takeout, waited a long time to get it when I got there, but enjoyed my food. The items on the tacos were not proportionate to one another, and that was most likely my only complaint besides the time it took to get my food. I didn't expect any different. I would have given it 3.5 stars at that point.

That being said, in support of my opening statement, they continue to add to their menu and put together GREAT flavors. The toppings and meat are more proportionate to one another, and every order following the first has been an improvement on the previous. The chicken apple taco is an unexpected delight, and has grown to be one of my favorites. The queso and que is delicious with pulled pork being my protein of choice. They've added delicious looking items to the menu and I'm excited about the quesadillas...

Visited on a moderately busy Friday night. First time here. First impressions: great interior vibe, very modern. Nicely laid out. Ample and diverse seating arrangements. I was surprised there wasn’t a direct menu on the large chalkboard (focal point of the entire restaurant). Small handheld menus were available which was appreciated. Asked the cashier how large the tacos were; I was assured that they were quite large. Ordered 3 tacos for 2 people. Almost $30. Extremely long wait... Waited 45 minutes for 3 average sized 10 inch tacos. I thought it might be 15 mins tops. Tacos were good overall when they finally arrived, but not as “knockout” as I was hoping. Each of us ate 1.5 tacos. Left hungry still...ended up going somewhere else afterward. At least there was seating available during the wait. Would try again but would order 2-3 tacos per person depending on hunger level. Was hoping for a...
