Carmelo Bakery — Restaurant in Bayonne

This wonderful new bakery opened about a week ago here in Bayonne, and boy am I thankful. The place is clean and open. A very relaxing atmosphere was inside and a welcome smile from the young lady behind the counter.

There's fresh bread, croissants, pastries, cookies, meringues, pizza, lunch sandwiches, and all sorts of sweet ideas to try and enjoy. Not to mention a few tables to sit and relax for breakfast or lunch. Maybe.. If you don't want to cook later, they had spinach or zucchini tarts you could take with you. 🥧

I brought home a Ham and Cheese Croissant and it was every bit of amazing! 🥐 Barely sweet on top, warm and satisfying with melted cheese to complement. I also had a dulce de leche masita which was excellent and finally some mini margaritas to take to work tomorrow. 🍰

Among many places in town, this place not only has quality and flavor buy they care about giving you a fresh tasty item at a very reasonable price!

Everything was totally delicious and I will be back... again and...

First of all how do you open a business without properly training your staff ?? Second please make SURE they speak and understand English .

I called to place an order and they don't even know what's on the menu , then I had to repeat myself about 3-4 times and even then they didn't understand.

I asked for a cannelloni and I asked for the flavors , they said spinach … r spinach WITH MEAT . I asked if we could have meat only and they said no because the meat was already mixed. So I got one with meat and in all honesty there was NO MEAT in it .. so basically you can have spinach OR spinach haha cause there was NO MEAT IN IT . people need to learn to be efficient , know the menu and able to take phone orders...

I stumbled upon this bakery with a craving for a donut. Even though there were no donuts in sight there were tons of mouth watering pastries! I settled on a Mille-feuille that had layers of dulce de leche. A small pastry for a modest price of 1.30 it was the perfect size, not overly sweet and it was delicious! It was very cold, and tasted like it was previously frozen unfortunately.

The staff were really friendly and the decor inside is so cute. It’s extremely clean and has plenty of tables and a bathroom in the back.

Lots of other people were eating burgers, sandwiches on rolls or croissants.

I would definitely come back and try some other things! Looks like a great place for lunch or...
