Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Baytown

Customer contact with food. -5 stars if possible

Customer's eat food off buffet...directly. Or finger around for a perfect piece or whatever item, pop in mouth decide not like it. Place half bitten chicken or desert on bar inches from food. Adults...and children...seen doing this several times before even taking a seat.... 2 visits months apart... first time, witnessed this only one random family did this... it was gross,but we had already eaten. Besides we thought it was a one-off ordeal, we have come to this location off and on since its opening many many years ago.

Will we be back? No.

This last and final time, several people, whether together or appearing alone, were picking up food with their hands. One person in particular, picked up the tongs just to move them out of the way. Then proceeded finger around for I guess the perfect hushpuppie.

So. Nope. Final time walking threw those doors. Staff is always so attentive and kind trying to keep the place clean. But the customers ruined this place since apparently it's common practice of local customers now, at this location...at least...

How to fix issue:

Maybe have servers stationed to scoop out food to customers. But we won't be back. We left disturbed and headed close to Houston for non-customer-handled food.

Honestly I hated this location. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I moved to Baytown almost a year ago and my first time coming to this Golden Corral let’s start off by saying if you come an hour before they close they won’t make anymore fresh food so your stuck eating old cold food. Location was nasty dirty pay attention like really look at the ceiling the floor where the food is placed. Another thing they need to change that nasty carpet it smells so bad like mold I had a hard to eating the food I did get. Then they started turning off everything and taking everything i understand ppl need to go home and they need to close but at least let ppl know that your taking the food away before you throw it away. Employees were talking about cockroaches in the back and that completely turned me off I got up and left right after that. The only positive thing I can say is my waitresses was very sweet and friendly but I will not pay 16 dollars ever again at least not here. (16 dollars with drink and tax)...

I'm a truck driver and was layed over for a few days in Baytown. I decided I wanted something other than truck stop food so I hit up google and saw this place, the fact that it has lots of room for bobtail(without trailer) parking is deffinatlly a plus. I have eaten at Golden Corrals' all over the country and I must say that this is one falls in the top 5. The location was clean as were the restrooms. The food bars were well maintained and trays were fresh. I had steak and prime rib, both had good flavor and nice and tender. Everything I had from the hot bar was of good temperature but not over done. You can tell that the management team and employees care about the appearance and service at this location. I will let my friends know thus is here and will definitely be back next time I'm in town. Thanks for an enjoyable meal.
