The staff to task organization, wait times and consistency/quality of food and overall management at this location are absolute and utter garbage.
So much so, that we live next door and literally, happily drive across town to go to a different location!
Unfortunately we regrettably, accidentally forgot to change our location when we ordered online so our order was submitted to this location instead of the one across town in Central Beaverton.
After waiting 20 minutes for the order to be ready I never received a text message saying so from Panada (as their system normally does when they complete assemblying the order and scan it).
I proceeded inside (2 hours before close mind you) to inquire if the order was ready. The employee at the register informed me they were all out of the Sweetfire Chicken Breast we selected for four of our five entrees (yes 4 entrees, pretty much our entire order aside from rice, most of which was hard as a rock). The employee then asked what entrees we would like instead.
Seeing as they only had 3 entree items prepared (one of which we are allergic to), I instead asked to have the order refunded so I could head to a Panda different location.
After waiting several minutes of watching the 2 floor employees discuss amongst themselves then approach the manager who seemed to be placing food orders on a computer in the back corner, the employee at the register finally returned and stated that they were going to make some more of the sweetfire chicken breast and that the wait would be 7 minutes.
I hesitantly agreed to the wait, even though I should have known better and was already upset that we would be waiting 30 minutes AGAIN for our food they didn't have, but suddenly decided to make when we wouldn't substitute our entrees for something more convenient for them.
This turned out to be a huge mistake, as we got home and opened our food we found that the ala carte carton wasn't even halfway full, most of the fried rice was hard a rock (everything you see in the rice picture is hard) and the employees had MISSED AN ENTIRE ENTREE in the to-go boxes!
So after waiting more than 30 minutes for our food (took 14 minutes for the Sweetfire Chicken Breast, not 7 as they claim) we received an order missing an entree, fried rice that was literally cooked into a rock and a reminder of what a failure this Panda Express Location is...
Who checked our food before scanning it as complete? And why is there never any floor management oversight??
Will not recommend
The last time we purposely went to this location we placed an Online Order, waited 15 minutes AFTER our pick up time to get cold, hard as a rock rice, food.
The extented wait was supposedly going to be 7 minutes for fresh orange chicken (still confused why it wasn't made in the 20 minutes leading up to our Pick Up Time or why it took 15 additional minutes instead of 7 I was told when I arrived).
Then when I could see the food was ready and set my order on the shelf (35 minutes after Ordering Online) they didn't call my name so I asked for the order using my first and last name. I was then asked by an employee to show proof of the order via the application and when I informed them I didn't have any application they then stated with much attitude "well then how did you place a mobile order?". I responded very confused with "On your website?".
I then had to find the email confirmation in my email to show the employee before they would give my cold food, even though I had given them my complete name and all they checked on the email was my name. And yes, almost 40 minutes in since I placed my order and my two sides, two entrees were all cold and the 3rd entree carton of orange chicken was barely half...
Read moreA Bearable Experience Sans Pandas at Panda Express
Last weekend, in search of an Asian-inspired culinary adventure, I set my sights on a trip to the well-loved fast-food chain, Panda Express. Renowned for its fusion-style take on traditional Chinese dishes, Panda Express didn't let down my taste buds. However, the panda part of the experience was, disappointingly, nowhere to be found.
The food, it must be said, was an enjoyable treat. The Orange Chicken, Panda Express's star attraction, was delightfully tangy, crispy, and sweet, with just the right hint of heat. It was a flavorful symphony that played beautifully on my palate. The Kung Pao Chicken was equally delicious, with a perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and savory. The chow mein and fried rice, though not extraordinary, were satisfying complements to the meal.
The staff, warm and amiable, was eager to help and prompt in their service. Their smiles, albeit concealed behind mandatory masks, radiated a welcoming charm. Each query was met with patience and a thorough explanation, making the ordering process hassle-free.
But amidst the positives, a glaring absence cast a long shadow over my experience. I walked into Panda Express with a glimmer of hope that I might be greeted by the sight of a panda, slow, fast, or even moderately-paced. Instead, the reality was a stark contrast. No black and white cuddly creatures were present to add a literal sense to the establishment's name.
Is it too much to ask for a panda in a place called Panda Express? Well, possibly, considering the legal and ethical implications of keeping a wild animal in a restaurant setting. However, I couldn't help but feel that the experience was incomplete without a touch of panda cuteness.
One could argue that the name is simply a metaphor, a symbol representing the brand's connection to Chinese cuisine, but for me, it falls short of expectations. I left feeling as if the branding was a bit of a bamboozle, lacking the authenticity I had hoped for.
In conclusion, Panda Express delivers a tasty and reliable Chinese-American culinary experience. Still, it unfortunately falls short in providing the literal panda-filled adventure its name suggests. So, while the Orange Chicken will undoubtedly bring you back, the dearth of pandas might leave you with a touch of...
Read moreThe new Angus dish is delicious. 19g of protein but SUPER salty.
No teriyaki sauce whatsoever for the chicken teriyaki. Grrr. I guess the good thing about having no teriyaki sauce is that we were able to finally see how grizzly and gross their chicken actually is. At least my dogs liked it. It cost me $35 to learn a lesson, and that lesson was that I don’t like panda express anymore.
I visited today and purchased one of their family meals for $35. The employees are not friendly. Not at all. The cashier was so awful, and I never say that about anybody, but she was so awful that she stood in front of me as I asked her question completely ignored my question, and then proceeded to start talking about something completely different while wearing a mask. I had to clarify six times what she was saying because I was so confused about the direction that the conversation went. I had not been to panda in a long time. And I’m glad I went today. Because I realize that I do not like panda express anymore. Yes, one dish was delicious but it’s really an unhealthy option. They didn’t even get the order right and it was not a pleasant experience. The parking for this particular location is nil and it’s not convenient. So that’s my last time eating at panda and that is certainly my last time ever stopping at this particular location.
I was super annoyed when I got home and realized that they didn’t even bother including teriyaki sauce with the teriyaki chicken. It seems so basic. So I called to see if they could have some ready for me because I live 10 to 15 minutes away from that location. The phone rang for 50 seconds and no one answered until The phone just dropped the call. That’s basically what you can expect...
