I always stop when I see BBQ joints so figured I’d give it a shot. Ordered a sampler of everything as I do that at all the BBQ joints as I want to see how the food is across the board. I ordered brisket, ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. Came with 2 sides which I ordered Mac and cheese and coleslaw. Was severely disappointed that they don’t have collard greens. What true bbq joint doesn’t have the staple side? But anyways…. Mac and cheese was very bland and honestly tastes as if it came from a box.
Brisket was the best part and that wasn’t up to par. I’d rate the brisket alone at a 2 star. Brisket and ribs were both over cooked with dry parts on the bottom. Chicken was not smoked. Tastes like baked chicken but seasoning on chicken was very good.
There is a chance that I’d go back if I’m on the area again. I know BBQ is hard to be consistent on. Matt’s and Podnahs bbq is the best I’ve had in the PNW and even they have bad days.
And to add on the service. Wait time was supposed to be 20 min and I waited 36 min for my order. Very...
Read moreI ordered the Ribs, Mac n Cheese, and Mashed Potatoes.
What I loved: Ribs were very yum! I love that these ribs were smoked and you could taste it. They also weren't super sweet which I dislike in bbq sauces for ribs. Little bit of spice as well, which I loved. They were tender too. I've missed ribs since moving from Texas and these did hit the spot.
What I liked: The mac n cheese was not bad but not the greatest. I think if they added more seasoning, maybe made it creamier, and definitely smoked it, it would really take it up to the next level.
What I didn't love: The mashed potatoes. I was told they were Garlic Mashed Potatoes so I was expecting flavor but they tasted like they weren't seasoned at all. Just a steamed potato scooped out onto a plate. Had higher expectations for these! I poured their 'Bad' bbq sauce over them to make it better.
All in all, 4/5, decent BBQ and I had been living in Texas for 18 years prior to moving here recently so I'd say pretty...
Read moreThere was so much wrong that it was hard to find a place to start. I ordered a Porky Dog with fries. The fries were overcooked in oil that was too low in temperature. Crispy on the outside, oily on the inside. The hot dog also appears to have been cooked in the same oil. It was tossed in a grilled bun. I love grilled buns for a hot dog. But, the bun was over grilled and just on outside. The dog was topped with very moist pulled pork that soaked the bun and made it impossible to eat as one would eat a hot dog. This was topped with a BBQ sauce and cheese. The pulled pork was passable lacking too much flavor and the BBQ sauce was just as bland. Well priced at $8, but I ate the pulled pork and some of the fries and...
