Decided to try a new BBQ place tonight. Reviews were mixed but mostly good so we gave it a shot. The decor is great, outdoorsy with a lot of deer, boar, elk, etc. mounts, old saddles. And they were playing 70's disco music which we happen to like and at a reasonable level. Quick service (to be fair we were the only ones there at the time) I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, pulled pork, and St. Louis ribs. Sides of fried okra and potato salad. Wife ordered a brisket sandwich and sides of baked beans. The brisket was fair. It had a decent bark but from what I could tell little to no smoke ring. Flavor was okay but missing the smoke. The pulled pork was pretty tough and I didn't care much for the flavor. You get 1 rib. It was nice and tender, pulled from the bone pretty easy but again, missing smoke. The okra was amazing. Unlike many places that use frozen, pre-breaded okra this was fresh okra and fried when I ordered it. Very tasty with a nice, crunchy breading and since it wasn't frozen it had a bit of a bite (not all mushy). The potato salad was also very good. Not sure if it is house made or purchased but it was one of the better potato salads I've had. The BBQ sauce neither of us cared for. It's more of a 'Carolina' style with too much vinegar. The brisket sandwich would have been better if they toasted the bun. The baked beans I'm pretty sure were just canned beans not homemade. Price was about what you would expect from a BBQ place, we spent $40...

I recently visited Charlie’s BBQ and Hamburgers for some BBQ and burgers, and while the experience had its highlights, it fell short in some areas.
Let’s start with the BBQ: the chicken and ribs were decent, but nothing to write home about. They lacked that wow factor and left me craving something more flavorful. However, I must admit, the BBQ sauce was a standout - tangy, sweet, and just the right amount of smoky goodness.
Now onto the burgers: While they were flavorful, there was something off about them. They didn’t quite taste like real meat, which was a bit weird and disappointing. However, if you’re open to non-traditional burger experiences, you might enjoy them.
On the bright side, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their warm hospitality definitely added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.
In conclusion, if you happen to be in the area, it’s worth stopping by Charlie’s bbq and burgers for a bite. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again. There are better BBQ joints and burger...
Read moreMy first GOOD BBQ in Houston. I had the 3 meat: Brisket, ribs and jalapeno sausage with boracho beans and jalapeno cream corn. Brisket had great bark, very tender, juicy with a great smoke flavor. I was cutting it with only my fork. Ribs were also nice, not fatty and smoked perfectly which required a slight pull to remove from the bone. Not fall off the bone which is actually correct for smoked ribs. Jalapeno sausage had nice flavor and were not greasy, could have used a little bit more jalapeno for me but had great flavor. Sides. Boracho beans were mild but flavorful. The jalapeno cream corn was more like a dessert. Don't let the jalapeno part fool you. They were extremely creamy, full of flavor and sweet, which was a very pleasant surprise. They also have a wonderful condiment accessory bar with 3 types of jalapenos, onions, pickles and sweet peppers plus several other items. Overall I really enjoyed eating here and I...
