Oh my goodness!! What a GEM!
Quick FYI’s yes, they have free parking in the building, and yes it IS as amazing as it looks and what’s even better it has GREAT FOOD where you don’t have to sacrifice the ambiance!
I would suggest to only grab a table when you’re close to ordering (let the people who have their food sit my lovelies) There are plenty of seating available so just be on the look out. We came here on a weekend morning and yes it was packed but we managed to grab a table and have a great time!
So, lets talk food
Café Hagen Deluxe 5/5 So this bad boy is an exclusive for the Bellevue location, Smoked Samon and Cream Cheese, Mushrooms (we opted for this instead of bacon or pork and OMG is was so yummy!) crispy heart waffles with Nutella whipped cream and yummy hazelnuts, Avocado, and the most delicious bread I’ve had in a while! (wish I could have asked for more)
Marble Pound Cake (Loaf?) 5/5 I did NOT expect to be impressed by a slice of cake (especially when some of the others looked far more decadent) but mayhaps the food gods were looking down upon me. I will not go to this place without forever more taking a slice to take home with me REGARDLESS!!
Coffee 4/5 I love that they give you whatever mug is available and they do look cute, coffee was good but did have that little citrus that I don’t like so I’m docking a point for that
Service could be improved on but I’m not docking points there only because you could tell they were trying their best to move things along and having so many people felt a little hectic to me let alone them
Will absolutely go back and...
Read moreI came here to have a snack and a matcha in the afternoon, it was not busy. The barista immediately had attitude. I ordered a hot matcha which came out barely warm, more like room temp. I asked if I could get it hotter and she angrily dumped it out saying, "you left it sitting there" (it had been 30 seconds since she called my name). The next one was barely hotter than the first and she put it directly in my hand. I then tried to use the wifi using the password and network from the sign on the bar it didn't work on my laptop or phone. I asked the barista about it and she said, "I don't really know about the wifi..." I asked, "Is there someone who does know about the wifi I could talk to?" she rolled her eyes and said, "Um. no. Our manager is not here." I also tried to use the bathroom, there are several individual bathrooms with sinks, etc in each. The first one I went into was out of soap and dirty. I went to the next one and the trash was full and overflowing. This cafe looks nice but the terrible service definitely ruins...
Read moreI'm very disappointed with Café Hagen in Bellevue. On Saturday, September 6th, I ordered the Nordic Breakfast Deluxe, which costs $33-$40, and asked for my eggs over easy. The staff had no problem accommodating the request.
When I returned the very next day, Sunday, September 7th, I ordered the exact same dish and again asked for my eggs over easy. This time, the cashier dismissively told me, "we don't do that". I explained that I had literally been served the same modification the day before, she then said "well we are too busy to do that today." The attitude came across as snooty and dismissive.
It's hard to justify paying $33-$40 for a breakfast dish where you can't even choose how your eggs are cooked. For that price point, I expected consistency, flexibility, and good service -- instead I left feeling brushed off and snubbed.
If they can't be bothered to accommodate customers, they don't deserve the business. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend Café Hagen...
