February 1, 2025- Still no update Lots of apologies they still have not made it right. They never offered to fix my hair, never refunded my money or even issued me a gift certificate so I could have my hair fixed. My hair has of course grown out and and all the nasty orange has been cut off. This is what you get when you go their. You can see their reply about not being able to help me because of Covid but their salon was only closed for a short time and they were back taking in new customers and never once said come on in and let us make this right, which is all I ever wanted. Thankfully I’ll continue to update you on my progress and maybe they will decide to do the right thing and at least off me a gift certificate to have my hair done.
January 24, 2022 - My original review post from April 22, 2020 is down below, still waiting for a reply.
September 3, 2020 - Nothing to update from Gene Juarez, complete crickets these last four month.... But if you look at the other recent reviews they are responding to those customers. So you see, it has nothing to do with Covid and not having someone to man the post because they are responding to the other reviews and other customers. Just an FYI, I will try to update my post ever few months until its resolved, you know out of sight out of mind. If this ever gets resolved or GJ does get back to me, you’ll know. I do hope to turn this into a positive review, because everyone has an off day. Hoping this is the case.
April 22, 2020 - Wow, where do I start. This is round two, of me trying to write a 4-5 star review. If you look over my reviews you will see most if not all my reviews are 4-5 star. However that being said GJ is making my life harder then it needs to be. Please see my review at the Redmond location when they chopped my hair up to my earlobes. It was down to my back dimples and I wanted to donate 12” she cut off 18”. NOTE: I will update this review like I did my “Redmond” location review.
Ok, here we go. If you want more pictures or want copies of all the text messages from the GJ employee let me know. I was upfront with her from day one, I told her I wanted platinum blonde and sent her the two blonde pictures below. I told her, I was will to have the dark areas to start with but really wanted it to be like picture #2 for the end result. This is what spending over $120.00 gets you, ORANGE HAIR. She then told me she would have to cut off all the orange to turn my hair platinum blonde. WHY WOULD I SPEND OVER $120.00 to have you remove the brown hair dye, just to have you cut off the hair you just processed and turned orange. Now nobody will touch my hair, they are scared that my hair will break off at my collar bone. I just don’t understand, if you couldn’t do platinum blonde why didn’t you just say so. There is nothing worse then looking and feeling ugly, because somebody decides they are a god and wants to be cruel. It’s not their problem anymore. NOTE: The GJ employee is a platinum blonde. She even redid her hair from rainbow colors to the platinum so I know she can do it. She just wanted me to stay ugly and orange. I’m back to living in baseball hats. Now all the pictures of my with my 15 month old grandson, have me wearing some kind of hat to cover up my...
Read moreThis is the most horrible customer service experience I have ever received! The first hair cut appointment in UDistrict got canceled right after I came to the salon and they offered me a haircut with another stylist. The person who has done my hair was nice; however, the length of my hair was slightly different in some places. I have called Gene Juarez in Bellevue to book a re-do appointment to fix my haircut. They asked me to hold as they need to call UDistrict Gene Juarez for a re-do service approval. They called me back in 3 hours and we scheduled an appointment. I took time from work and was on my way to the salon. One hour prior to my appointment I received a call from Shennan from Gene Juarez saying that my stylist can’t make it on time and will be 15 minutes late. Unfortunately, I could not extend the time of my lunch and said I can’t make it later than the time of my original appointment and promised to give a call back within an hour or two to let them know whether I am able to come later that day or not. I called back and found out that the person rescheduled me without my permission to another time for the same day. Also, the salon representative notified me that I wouldn’t be able to schedule a new re-do appointment, as I could not show up for the service today (at the time they scheduled without notifying me.) I am taking more time off work just to be on the line with salon representatives to solve this issue. During my call, I was transferred to different managers and was speaking to more than 5 people overall explaining the same issue over and over. The first manager I have talked to said that I called them first to cancel my appointment (which never happened.) Then, she said that Gene Juarez called me at the time of my original appointment as I haven't shown up and thus it was canceled (that never happened.) I offered to send a screenshot of phone calls to prove that I was called first at the time I referred earlier (an hour before my appointment.) Later, the same manager told me that my appointment was canceled due to technical issues (the first time I was told that the stylist was late, then that I did not show up on time, then technical issues.)The manager continued accusing me of not showing up on time. Later, she offered to make an appointment for me for another day. I called back to schedule a new appointment and was transferred to the other manager. I have told my preferred date and time. The manager mentioned my next appointment will be paid as I did not show up today. I gave him a clear understanding that I would not pay for the re-do service and explained again the situation, hoping to receive a solution. He told that he can not do anything and offered me to talk to another manager who will come tomorrow. I was never agreed to schedule a new paid appointment. A couple of minutes later after we finished talking I received an email confirmation for my new appointment. No one ever apologized and instead of fixing the issue, the salon kept stealing my time and was giving me...

To start off, I called weeks before my event and scheduled a Special Ocassion hair service in Puyallup at 11am the day of. I called again a couple days prior to the event to confirm, just to find that they had me down for a Blow Dry in Bellevue at 10 am. There were no longer any openings for the service I wanted in Puyallup, Tukwila or Tacoma. I live in Auburn, btw, so Bellevue is an hour or so of a drive. Unfortunately, it was too late to find somewhere else to get my hair done, so I agreed to a Special Occasion appointment at 9 am in Bellevue.
I went in for my appointment at the scheduled time and my hair stylist was Fernanda. I showed her 4 pictures with completely different styles that were all acceptable to me. Some were simple and others were more intricate. I showed her my favorite, but said that what I want most of all is for it to look good, so I asked her to choose the one that she is most comfortable and confident with. She said we'd do my favorite one.
The whole time she was doing my hair she had my chair turned away from the mirror, therefore I couldn't see what it looked like.
After she was done she let me see. It was far from similar to any of the pictures I showed her, let alone the one she chose to reference.
I am half Indian, and therefore have very thick hair. She managed to make my hair look very flat and frizzy. The curls were beyond loose. Some strands of hair were even straight. The braid that was along the side was a French even though the picture had a Dutch. The whispies were very ugly, mismatched length, coming from places that didn't make sense and a couple of them were straight not curled. I was beyond appalled. This took two hours and I was on a tight schedule so there wasn't time to redo the whole thing. On top of that I didn't want to make her redo the whole thing anyway. However, I asked her to fix the frizz, tighten the curls and fix the braid. Her response to that was "Girl, it's way too late for that".
The service was $170, which is crazy considering my hair looked like a 12 year old did it. I definitely could have done that myself. I paid a "professional" to do it becauseI wanted professional results.
Not to mention the gas I had to spend and the time to drive way farther than I had scheduled to due to their mistake. I should have been compensatd for that. The extra drive put me way behind schedule and I ended up being late.
Idk how to add pictures to a review but if someone can tell me how I'll post the reference photos that I showed her, the one she chose to do, and...
