We came In tonight after the snowflake parade and we regret our choice to dine at this establishment. Our waitress made a mistake with our kids order which she took back then brought their food once the whole table had finished their meal. Also their steak was medium rare when we ordered medium well. We didn't want to mention to our waitress since they were already starving. Drinks were also a mess we ordered kettle one botanical cucumber and mint first two orders had mint in them next few rounds didn't have any. I then asked the waitress about the mint or slush topping and apparently they ran out. Strangely enough she didn't mention when a person in our party ordered the watermelon slush which she waited twenty five minutes to tell her that the slush machine was broken. I then watched as our waitress made her way to our table chewing on some food which she finished just as she approached our table. Normally I wouldn't write such a negative review but having worked several kitchens for the Fuller family for many years and several locations, I found their front house to be very unacceptable. I asked to speak to a manager, a gentleman which again he has such poor management skills. After explaining what had occurred with our dining experience his reply was simply thank you for your feedback we will pass it onto our staff. Also if you check the bill you will notice they charged us for two Yager drinks which they stated they actually also ran out of that night. I suppose out waitress didn't care since the automatic gratuity is set at 20% on $343.00 bill. Although one nice thing that should be noted , she did however wish me a happy birthday. Most restaurants would offer a small dessert or even consider taking one of the meals off our bill. Please consider your dining options wisely and stay away from this establishment. One thing to also take note they have nothing on the menu for children ,our waitress said this was a common complaint also but she could ask the kitchen staff to make a chicken breast and rice or French fries. The table behind us also a large table they sat down and walked right out. I suppose since they had a large number of children in their party. I would highly suggest you stay away from this establishment and spend your hard earned money elsewhere, they don't care about your...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I came in on Saturday December 9th at around 2:30-2:40. We sat at the bar and waited for menus and to be greeted. Having been a bartender for 25 years working at places like TGI Friday's for 10 years behind the bar I noticed that they were pretty busy. There was 2 bartenders behind the bar. A young lady running the bar top and a young man working the service bar. They probably needed a 3rd bartender but these days It is hard to find people to work. As we waited patiently to be greeted and handed menus the young lady did not acknowledge us, not even saying "hi" or "i will be with you in a bit". Pretty standard thing to do. After about 20 minutes or so of waiting for her to at least clean the glasses off the bar top in front of us we noticed a couple sit down a few stools down from us. Within a minute the young lady had cleared the glasses in front of them and gave them menus. At this point I was really upset. I rarely say anything at a restaurant having been on both side of the bar. But this was just too much. At this point I asked the young lady why she never greeted us or offered us menus after 20 minutes but promptly greeted and set up the other couple within a minute of them sitting down. She really didn't say anything. The couple appeared to be white and i myself am Mexican and my girlified part-filipino. Did this play a part in the lack of service? Not sure, i'll never know. I let the young lady know that she was the worst bartender I have ever seen. That took a lot for me because I take great pride in giving the service I expect when I work behind the bar. Earl's has always underwhelmed when it comes to service but we decided to give it another chance. Was very disappointed and will not be coming back. I hardly think my business will put a dent on your bottom line, but word of mouth and social media seem to have some impact. Anyone that knows me knows I despise social media but in this case i am going to make an exception. My goal is not to get this young lady fired or to get any monetary compensation. My goal is for you to know of the incident and also to let you know that i will be telling this story to everyone I know. I am well know in Kirkland having worked behind the bar for over 2 decades. That being said, thank you for your time and...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW June 2023: Service has improved a lot, and we didn't even realize how much until now. Smiling, friendly faces are more common these days. The place seems more organized. However, the food seems to have come down a notch, with cold food that should be hot, and cocktails that are too sour or served with a sad, aged or wilting garnish. The noise level, even early in the evening midweek, is lately quite boisterous, not so fun. Be prepared to talk very loud to be heard or do some great leaning in. It's the music and the chatter against it that creates a vibe, and for some this is cool, but if you're looking for a romantic dinner, this may not work for you. All in all, it's still okay, we are just not as enthralled as we used to be with the food. If only they'd scale back the menu and focus on a select theme, it'd be easier for the kitchen and for the guests. OLD REVIEW below: A gathering spot for anyone seeking an old school dark, cool bistro feeling while enjoying a steak, lettuce wrapped burger, appetizers, drinks or sodas, yeah. Listen to the clinks and giggles and watch flirty couples or discombobulated toddlers regain their composure over a plate of fries and ketchup. There's a place for many types of people here. Walk up and if there's a line you can be added to a waitlist that could be 10 minutes or an hour. Nearby shops will keep you busy if you don't want to stand around the small entryway while you wait. With an offering of upscale casual American food, there is usually something for everyone here, so no worries. Fun drinks, wines by the glass, great people watching. Of note, one side of the restaurant has mostly counter height type seating, including the booths, so if you're mobility challenged, mention this when you ask for a table. Our most recent visit was good, with tasty lil tacos, but at $7 per taco, it seemed a bit steep. And, well, we felt like we might be a little older than their hoped-for demographic. Ah well. A good spot overall when you're in...
