This restaurant staff has exceptionally disappointing customer service. I understand the COVID restrictions in the state, and the limitations of the outdoor seating and having to get on a waiting list. There are only 6 tables available and when I got on a waiting list around 5 pm, there were 3 tables ahead of us, without any ability to know how long it will take.
We went walking around Downtown Bellevue and in about 1-1.5 hours we stopped by the restaurant again to check in because I didn't get a call, but there was still a table in front of us. So we left again and were waiting for a call. Eventually thirty minutes later, still not getting a call, I called the restaurant myself, only to find out that I'm not longer on the waiting list, because, I quote, "we tried calling you twice, and there was silence, so we took you off the waiting list", and they offered to add me back, but at the bottom of the list. When I reasonably questioned, why can't we get the next available table, because we waited for 2+ hours, I was told that they can't do that and there are 8 tables ahead of us. I never got any missed calls, and the fact that the attempt to call went silent (no dial tones, no voice mail) hints that there must have been some connection issue, hard to know on which side. But given that we were still interested and really hungry by that time, any reasonable customer service would have accommodate and got us seated on the next available table.
When I came back and asked to get a call to confirm if there is a connection problem, I was surprisingly told that I "was extremely rude on the phone" and they are not willing to accommodate any of my requests, no ability to talk to manager, and threatened that I have to immediately leave otherwise they will call security. On my reasonable question what exactly did I say that they deemed rude, they refused to reply and again threatened me.
Anyhow, people who worked there evening shift on Saturday, December 12th, lack any basic decency and customer service. I've been to this place before, the food is good and the drinks are good, but beware of completely unacceptable customer service, complete disregard to accommodation and blunt out lying, calling a reasonable question asked without any intimation raise "rude"...

I shouldn't, but here goes if you need to be convinced. To start, service was excellent. The bartender greeted us when we entered and told us we could sit anywhere we liked. When we found the corner we wanted, we had a waitress swing by with ACTUAL menus and water to start us off until we could get drink orders in (don't worry if digital menus are your thing, they have that covered too but call me old fashion as I still like a physical menu). While placing our orders for drinks and food, our waitress gave us her personal recommendations and insight when asked, which again is a nice touch that shows the staff fully understands their menu along with what's popular. Plates were cleared without delay when we each finished our meals and she checked up on us regularly, but didn't hover or make us feel forgotten.
Oh, the food! You ever have those moments growing up where your appetite exceeded your stomach size and you willfully wanted to eat until you were sick? Their Guinness braised Irish beef stew reminded me of those moments. If you're wanting something more unique, their Casey Dilla (yes that's spelt correctly) with shredded corned beef is an excellent small plate that I plan to shamelessly copy at home when I can't get my...
Read moreIt has been one of our favorite places when we come from Eastern Washington. Went on Dec 20 about 4:50 pm and was told the wait would be anywhere from 20 min to 1 hour. There were only 6 tables outside due to Covid. We walked around for at least an hour, not receiving a call, so checked in with Madison. We continued to walk around another half hour and noticed not one table was leaving the whole time. Then we waited another half hour inside the mall which by that time we had it. We told Madison we were done waiting. Although he was sympathetic he said his hands were tied, so this is a management problem. Here is the suggestion for better customer service. If you tell a customer it will be a certain time, and then it extends way beyond that, just be honest and show some curtesy by informing the customer it will be a lot longer not making-up BS to keep them stringing along. If Paddy Coynes required reservations it would help to put time frames on the time people occupy the tables. The same people were camping out the whole time. You have a better chance of your business surviving because new customers will order food. We left very frustrated and it will be many days before we even think of frequenting this restaurant again. This should be addressed...
