Today at about 1:15 PM, my wife, my daughter, and I visited Applebees. Not much to our surprise, we had a small wait to be seated as the restaurant was at full capacity per our local regulations. We were understanding and had no issue with a 10 to 15-minute wait. We were soon seated without any issues, my daughter, who is 4 years old and needs help, and wife went to the restroom and after returning we still hadn't been greeted by the wait staff. About 5 to 10 minutes go by and the hostess peaked out and let us know that our waitress was new and she would be right over. Another 10 to 15 minutes go by and our waitress stops by, greets us, and gets our drinks. After getting our drinks she said she will be right back for our order. About 10 to 15 minutes go by and our hostess peaks out and asks if we have had our order taken yet, in which we responded we have not. Now at this point, we have waited at a table for about 30 to 35 minutes and have not ordered our food yet. Not only do I think that was a big miss, but there were multiple other team members in the building, none of which bothered to help attend to us or help out. After the hostess checked in, she started to take action, but it was too late at this point. Another 5 to 10 minutes went by after our last interaction with the hostess, at this time I found the first team member I could find to offer to pay for my drinks as my wife, my daughter, and I was ready to leave. I spent a total of 40 minutes the establishment during this time I never saw a manager on the floor or concerned about customers and the service they were receiving. Not only do I think all of that was a big miss, but during this time I was able to become more aware of the practices of the establishment, the condition and cleanliness of the environment, and that I was about to pay for. I noticed crusted dried food on the wall and photograph behind me that my daughter was interacting with because she is a child. I noticed white cloudy food residue on the half-wall that stood between my booth and the bar area. I noticed every team member was either wearing there mask improperly due to wearing it under their nose or around there neck. After 40 minutes in your establishment, I realized at that moment, there was no way I was about to receive any type of service that would have been worth the same value that would have been on my bill. All of this in the wake of COVID-19, the heightened awareness for a need for cleanliness, and from a restaurant that had noticeable employees idle while running at less than half capacity due with no management insight....
Read more8/8/2018 Sorry to say I visited there once last week, and will never return! My Cousin Julie was here visiting from out of state and this restaurant was near her hotel. She said the Applebee's where she is from are great, and I had never been here. When we entered, there were about 10-15 people sitting eating but no one at the front to greet us. There was a sign that said wait to be seated, so we waited .... and waited ... and waited .... after about 10 minutes we said this is ridiculous and turned to exit the restaurant. That was when a young lady came rushing up (we think maybe the people eating were servers on break?) and seated us at a filthy booth the first inside the door. We got up and moved to a cleaner (only slightly, it was very very sticky!) booth in a better location and waited for them to take our order. We were famished as it was around 2:30 pm and neither of us had eaten since the day before. She had been traveling and on a flight then bus since early morning; I had been at medical appointments. We ordered the recommended quick lunch combos (soup and 1/2 sandwich) and then waited nearly 40 minutes for our food!!! She said they had to make fresh soup! Are you kidding me? Why have a "special soup of the day" and then run out of it? At least have the courtesy to tell us and give us the option of selecting something different. The club sandwich was completely bare dry bread and we had to ask for mayonnaise (although the menu said it came with mayonnaise and bbq sauce. I asked for mayo and my friend asked for bbq). We had to go looking for the waitress to ask for that, and also again later to ask for a refill on our soft drinks. We spent nearly 2 hours there (nightmare) for our "quick" lunch. If you are hungry and want to be treated with basic human respect, this is not the place. I see there are a couple of positive reviews for this restaurant, so maybe consistency is not their norm. Maybe if the manager is on duty things go more smoothly. Or maybe if you come at a different time or get a different server or choose something different off the menu.... As for me, I will never return and will tell my family, friends, and visitors not to eat here. You've...
Read moreThe service I had there was a complete joke... First off the woman sat us down handed us our menus and said I'll be right with you and left. When she came back I asked her if they had any specials tonight and she said they're in the menu didn't you look? I apologized for inconveniencing her and asked her for a few more minutes. She left and came back and when she came back she asked if we were ready and we told her yes. She took our order and I order the grilled shrimp and steak (medium rare), my fiance ordered the three cheese chicken fettichini* and my friend ordered their turkey club. We also ordered the 2 for 9.99 special on appetizer (Mozzarella Sticks and pot stickers). My friend got her side salad first along with her dressings. She would have ate it right then but we didn't have silverware. So when the waitress came by my friend told her we didn't have silverware she laughed an "oh my mistake" laugh and got my friend a set of silverware. Then she brought out the appetizer. The pot stickers were stuck together which was absolutely disgusting. When our food arrived I asked the waitress if we could get our drinks and she said "You didn't get them" and clearly you could see that we had not received any drinks at our table. She left got our drinks and said is there anything else? and I smiled at her and asked if my fiance and I could get some silverware. By the time she came back with silverware our food was cold and I didn't even get the right food I got fried shrimp instead of grilled..... I'm not going...
