I thought Wisconsin folk knew burgers and cheese, apparently not, all this wander full reviews for a glorified mcdonalds , i can name atleast 10 burger joints in the area that are waaaay way better and i am not even from around here , just come in the area to get away from Chicago madness, AND HIGH PRICES TOO , i wouldn't recommend!
To the response: I am giving you guys one more star after reconsidering ,.... the dining room is clean so is the bathroom and the menu is clear and easy to read , staff is nice . but than again mcdonalds's dining room is clean and the bathroom and their staff is nice and the menu , i am standing by my review , i did not enjoy the burger nor the fries any more than i do in the chain burger places ( don't get me wrong, i hate the big guys ((mcdnlds, brger king etc)) and don't give them my business. I look for small local places based on reviews and ratings by customers) and i was very disappointed you have the ratings of a top notch burger joint ,however the food to me was no better then mcdonalds . And your prices are 300-500 up higher then mcdonalds's....... i can recommend a burger place for you near by , gi try a burger and then tell me if you think you deserve same recognition by the reviews like them . Also it would be a good experience and you might get some inspiration for your place . My humble advice is keep doing what you doing if it works . Don't stress too much about someone's opinion about your burgers! And thank you for...
Read moreGreat spot! I met the folks here recently, and I'm super glad they recommended it.
Their website makes it clear that they take pride in quality ingredients, and it shows when you actually try the food.
Everything is cooked to order, and you can taste the freshness.
I had the southwest wrap, and it was perfect. The chicken was tender, and the flavors of the sauce and the black bean corn salsa balanced really well. Even just the fresh tortilla is something I could go for as a snack at any time.
I had onion rings for my side, and they were some of the best I've ever had. Light and crispy, with a touch of sweetness.
Finally, I had to try a cup of the bacon Swiss potato soup, even though I wasn't sure I could eat everything. It was remarkable. There were overtones of flavor I honestly don't quite know how to describe, other than to say it was creamy, smoky, and bold. I loved it, even on a warm summer day, and I'm already making plans for a special trip to come back in the winter just for its comforting loveliness. I live 45 minutes away, and yeah, it will be worth it.
I should mention the three stars for atmosphere... There's simply not much, but the food is worth it. Personally, I actually thought it was a major plus that there was no annoying music blasting like in way too...
Read moreThe burgers are awesome. Never heard of Doc's before since I am from out of town, but I glad I visited.
I got a Zesty combo which is a double cheeseburger with American cheese, onions, jalapenos, bacon and a dijon spread (also pickles but I requested no pickles so none on mine.) The combo came fries and a drink. The fries were pretty good. The fries have an option to be seasoned and they reminded me of Arby's curly fries but they were straight and thicker cut.
The price is a little more than what you would find at Wendy's or McDonald's, but I think it was an extra buck well spent. I paid $9.99 for my meal while you might end up spending $8 or $9 for a premium McDonald's or Wendy's burger combo.
I went thru the drive thru around noon and got my order taken care of within 5 minutes. The people inside were friendly. Overall I had a terrific lunch and would reccomend it to anyone that ventures...
