I’m currently having to manage the after effects of a terribly constructed food item given to me from Lucy’s tacos last night. As I sat, tending to the human manipulated calling of nature, i began to think, “Maybe I should put in a review that their food caused massive inflammation in my large intestine the following day resulting in having to relieve myself multiple times due to an illegal amount of spice and ill prepared shrimp flesh in my burrito”. My first bite harnessed a jarring discovery of betrayal as I crunched into the skin of a shrimp tail. Multiple mouth fulls were that of shrimp skin. I began to think it was maybe just one or two forgotten shrimps. But no- I reluctantly dug my fingers into my burrito only to confirm more shrimp tails intact with their skin. Because I spent good money, I figured I’d have to take this into my own hands and remove the tail skin myself. But alas, the beast of this burrito rests in its spice. Please understand, my pallet is conditioned to endure high levels of spice, but what I experienced last night was a level of spice beyond any reasonable proportion. It induced a stress upon my sweet partner watching me suffer. She was inclined to seek medical attention for me as she watched the tears roll down my face, racing with the beads of sweat my fore head produced. My cheeks remained flush and a strong sting of heat remained in my mouth for hours. I can respect heat and I can admit when I’ve been defeated. But the lack in warning warrants a warning to those wanting it. I find it justified to share to others of this experience. Not only was the burrito I received inedible due to the sadistic amount of spice and unpeeled shrimp flesh, they also stole 75 cents from me and did not add the guacamole I so paid for.
I ended up getting a...
Read moreI was really hopeful to go enjoy a taco after arriving in Bend at 9pm after a long drive. The hotel suggested this place because they were open a little later and had margaritas. I ordered 2 tacos, 1 fish, 1 carnitas, guacamole, chips and salsa, and margarita. $33 As I turned around to sit i noticed a FREE chips and salsa bar 🤔 So I asked if this was the chips and salsa I paid for and they said, no it's free. So I said oh then went did you charge me for it and he offered my money back. Then I said but I would still like the guacamole. He said that would be another $1.50 at this point I was confused because I already ordered it.. after sitting down arossed the room. They came up to the counter and called out my tacos, Then they came back up to the counter about 2 minutes later and called out my guacamole, then I went back to sit down a third time and about 2 minutes later, they called out my Margarita. The inconvenience of getting up multiple times to walk across their restaurant to get my food off the counter Instead of just serving it all at once or bringing it out to our table beings we were the only people in the restaurant, seemed really rude and inconvenient. The guacamole was basically mayo with maybe green food coloring... There was nothing avocado about it, it was absolutely disgusting. The tacos were okay. I took a couple bites of each and left them. The meat was disgusting with no flavor and the margarita might have had one shot in it and was the size of a super big gulp with watered down a lemon flavor.
I would never recommend this place or eat there again. Bad food, crap drinks, and not...
Read moreI visited Lucy’s Tacos near closing time recently and had a deeply unsettling experience due to unsafe and possibly intimidating knife handling by one of the staff.
When I arrived, a young man came out the front looking disgruntled, which I initially ignored. However, while waiting for my order, that same young man came out from the kitchen wielding a massive knife. He was visibly angry, holding the knife in his hand as if ready to use it, and walked quickly past me with an aggressive demeanor, looking right through me, rather than yielding space or holding the knife safely, such as nose-down, around a customer.
Feeling unsafe, I repositioned myself to a corner where I could keep an eye on him. All the while, he stayed hidden behind a pillar, out of my direct sight, which only heightened my discomfort. When I left, still before closing time, he aggressively shut and locked the door behind me.
This kind of behavior and unsafe knife handling is completely unacceptable in any restaurant setting and poses a serious risk to customers. I hope management addresses this immediately to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Additionally, after learning that tips go directly to the owner and are not shared with empoyees, I will no longer be supporting...
