What a mediocre meal. Can’t say any food was bad, just nothing great. To start off … a nice lady sat us, was a nice crowd - not too crowded. That’s when it got not great - our server was TERRIBLE - I mean TERRIBLE!!!!! Anyone can see most of my reviews are deserved 5 stars - Piccollo gets 3 star for food and ZERO stars for service!!! We sat and waited and waited and waited - again - not too crowded, but normal nice crowd. Finally waiter came and I was just a bad communicator and could care less. I asked for a taste of a 2 red wines - took forever - he came back with one (the most expensive with such a tiny taste) - then he took forever to come back. I asked for a taste of another - and he came back with a full glass - no taste. I was thirsty so I took it. But again - bad communication he did not listen at all. Then he asked if we want water - didn’t offer filtered house - just brought us a bottle and popped it open and poured - pretty presumptuous! And a fee he did not even ask about - profit bottle. Which I often order - but sure is nice, professional, and respectful when we are at least asked. We waited and waited and waited to place our order - got some bread - THANK GOD WE WERE STARVING!!! The bread was mediocre at best - what Beverly Hill restaurant doesn’t have awesome bread????!! As we ordered, asked about veal and he points to duck - I speak VERY clearly and veal means veal-not duck. Order in, chopped arugula salad, eggplant app, pasta, veal. Over an hour from the start our food came - no check ins from our waiter or anyone - was terrible service - TERRIBLE - we were invisible - and we’re a nice, kind, we’ll dresses polite couple who eats out a LOT! Salad - was ok, not bad, ok. Eggplant app -delicious!!!! Wine - “good”. Aperol - very good/normal. Pasta - homemade - good, not great, but pretty good. Veal - huge portion with old school potato’s and veggies - pretty bad, tasted like Lysol - like canned mushroom sauce - no salt or anything special on veggies - VERY OLD SCHOOL - *Chef - this is Beverly Hills - this meal should be amazing - but was far from it. In summary - food was “ok” - but far from good, service was HORRIBLE AND VERY SLOW. WAITER - please train this guy. Others - look up “service”. Price - very fair, assuming food would have been good. We’ll never get these 2 hours back. If you want a mediocre Italian place like you’d find in a strip mall - you got it. If you want delicious LA/Beverly Hills good and SERVICE - this is...

We made reservations for 05/22 at 9:15pm. When we arrived the hostess did not great us as they usually do. She asked if we had reservations and we answered with name and number of guest (Terrell +3). She asked us a second time appearing skeptical about us actually having reservations.. We were finally seated. Our server greeted us and brought us water 25 minutes after being seated. He then got distracted with customers he appeared to know personally based of how he greeted them. 30 min later we had to ask our server “if there was any bread for the table”. At the same time the table next to us (Seemingly Friends) had been served drinks, bread, and their entree. When our server finally brought our bread, we quickly placed our order. Our food arrived at 10:30pm and it was lukewarm/cold as if it had been sitting for a while. The plates weren’t hot at all and I then asked the gentlemen who dropped of our plate to call the supervisor/manager over. When the supervisor/manager arrived he did not greed us or asked us how could he assist us instead he just stood there. We attempted to explain how horrible the service had been since we arrived but all he heard us say was our food was cold and took back our plates. Our plates were returned after being taken for 10 minutes the food was the same but the plate was hot. At this point we were doing our best to make the best out of our horrible experience. No one checked back on us, not the supervisor, not our waiter. I could understand if it was a busy night but it was not! We saw our waiter at the end when he handed us the check. My friends and I are extremely disappointed with this Resturant’s lack of service. The least we would have expected from the manager or whomever to come back to our table and check-in but NOPE! It seemed like everyone avoided us the rest of the night. There were no apologies or an adjustment on our check! NOTHING! Save your money and go somewhere else with...

Piccolo is a wonderful little place in Beverly Hills. It has been around awhile and is just adorable. It has this lovely red awing at the entrance. The place is kept super clean. The service is so friendly and warm. They know the menu and wine list well and may suggest something you have never had. You will love them. It can get crowded so make a reservation. They also do delivery and take away. We have been several times and I have forgotten to review.

The seating is so comfortable and I love white tablecloths with a wee candle.

Try their Cappelletti in Brodo, which has prosciutto stuffed tortellini, and parmesan on chicken broth. Their Melanzane Alla Parmigiana is amazing. It is baked eggplant filled with ricotta, tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. Every bite is great. We also love their Zuppetta di Cozze e Vongole. This is my grandson's favorite. It comes with steamed mussels and clams in a light spicy tomato sauce.

They have so many handmade pastas you will have to come back again and again. Among others they have capellini, rigatoni, gnocchi, fettuccine, penne, fusilli, spaghetti, linguine, and tagliatelle and all of them are made by hand. The sauce you can pick is endless from Aglio e Olio to Polpettine.

For your mains their Milanese di Vitello which is a breaded and pounded rack of veal, arugula, and chopped tomato is a favorite as well as their Filetto al Pepe Verde cooked to perfection and always as ordered. It is the best filet mignon all with a green pepper corn sauce, spinach and roasted potato.

You must have their lemon meringue pie if you did no eat too much pasta. If you want they can make it to go.

Have...

Our family recently dined here for a holiday dinner. The entire experience was exquisite except for one minor yet annoying aspect which I will describe in a moment, but first the positives: Wonderful old world Italy atmosphere, professional top notch service from the maître d, waiter, and bussers. Lovely menu with extensive selections, interesting daily specials, and a comprehensive wine list. Each dish served to our party of five was perfectly prepared, superbly presented, and delicious. With all these superlatives, what could possibly be negative? The menu listed 'Bread' as an option for $1.50. With main course dishes $25 to $45 per person, it seemed like this establishment is nickel-and-diming the patrons by charging for bread. No one in our party asked for bread, yet as soon as we placed our main course orders, the busser showed up with one loaf of bread and oil and vinegar for dipping. So it seems like anyone that dines here automatically receives bread, in our case about 1 1/2 slices per person, and sure enough the final bill included an extra $7.50 for bread that we never asked for. We spent $300, tipped 20%+ (to a well deserved team), and felt a bit fleeced out of an additional $7.50. Not a game changer, but enough of an irritation to prevent me from posting what would otherwise be a five star review.

This restaurant is a gem. Found it as I was looking for a restaurant close to the Beverly Hills Marriott. It's within a mile distance. Atmosphere is charming, wait staff, hostess, manager were very helpful, especially as my mom needs extra assistance. The food was delicious! My margherita was nice and strong but also with great proportions! We had the calamari appetizer. My mom and I split the cesaer salad and linguini con aragosta e granchio. My husband had Spaghetti Natale. Bread came out piping hot with olive oil to drizzle. First time my husband has been excited to drink a cup of coffee that smelled delicious as it arrived at the table. This is saying something because he is very picky about his coffee and actually commented on how good it smelled and tasted! Valet parking after 6pm! We will be back!
