Fibbers is my favorite bar on the north shore point blank period. If you’re looking for delicious food with casual service in a cozy atmosphere, look no further. Craig the owner is a real mensch with a great team behind him. Highly recommend for celebrating st. Paddy’s day!
First and foremost - the food. Top notch comfort food. Never do I leave fibbers unsatisfied with my meal. The kitchen crew is truly talented. Can always expect consistent quality tasting food each and every visit. FACT: Fibbers has THE BEST French fries. Their Mac n cheese is legendary. I’m pescatarian, so naturally my go to is the teriyaki salmon with garlic mashed & green beans. I’ve dreamed about it in my sleep it’s so delicious. Their veggie burger is one of the best in the area and that’s a hill I would die on. my meat-eating mother & brother are big fans of the shepard’s pie, inside out wings, and of course their burgers.
For me personally, a restaurant’s ambiance plays a considerable role in the overall dine out experience. There’s something about this place that makes it stand out from other “dive” bars/eateries. Perhaps it’s the exposed brick walls and dim lighting that make for such a comforting and laid back setting. Ultimately, it’s the simply wonderful wait staff that foster a warm sense of familiarity at Fibber’s. Probably explains why most of their customers are regulars. I keep coming back for the food of course, but to actually look forward to seeing friendly faces providing amiable service is a bonus. Johnnie was our server for our most recent visit - What a sweetheart! If Hannah is your bartender, you will not be disappointed. She has a gift for mixing cocktails; I’d recommend her margaritas and...
Read moreIt was lunchtime and my husband and I were hungry but we’re tired of the “usual” and didn’t feel like putting anything together ourselves. We couldn’t decide where or what to get, but he mentioned that a coworker of his stated Fibber McGees had the “best burgers in town, hands down.” I thought that’s quite a claim, maybe we should try it, but the idea of “bar food” wasn’t appealing to me, so I checked out the website menu and was intrigued. I got the vegetarian Burger substitute on the “rattlesnake” and he got the “fibber”. First of all— if you’ve ever gotten a veggie burger anywhere you know it’s not anything to write home about, it’s thin and generally tastes meh. For a bar— the website was actually really nice looking, very easy to navigate and wasn’t overwhelmed with options; my eyes popped when I saw that nearly everything on the menu was homemade. When I got my burger it was HUGE. I didn’t think I’d be able to eat the thing, it was incredible, and I can honestly say after eating at nearly every establishment on Cabot street in Beverly, MA it truly was— even the veggie burger—the best burger in town. The fries on the other hand weren’t anything to write home about. We got the fried pickle apps and those werent stellar... far too bready. I appreciate the lighter cornmeal style batter, but that’s my preference and they weren’t terrible. Just greasy. But greasy is what you expect for bar food, but those burgers were far from and I’m excited to try their other fare. A real hidden gem! If you havnt been yet, but have been noticing the place—go in and get yourself a burger. You won’t be disappointed! Compliments to the...
Read moreGreat burger, excellent, crispy hand,-cut fries, wonderful fried pickles. The only things I wasn't fond of were the onion rings. The onion was mushy with too much breading. Could barely taste the onion.
Plenty of TV to watch the games. I'll be back to try some other things that looked really good on the menu.
Update: Had the chicken wings (1/2 price during Patriot games, which takes away some of the sting of them playing so badly). The wings were good size, perfectly cooked and tasty with Korean BBQ sauce. They have several different sauce flavors to choose from. We split a steak tip sub with cheese which was delicious. The tips were very tender. We had asked for fries as the side and when it was brought to us it had onion rings. We were almost full from the wings and it didn't matter to us so we just ate the rings. They were better than the last time (not mushy) but still not what I prefer, which is a very thin coating where the onion is the prominent flavor, not the batter. Overall, it was a very good meal and I will be...
