My experience at Captain's Anchorage for my little sister's wedding was nothing short of magical! The beautiful woodsy backdrop, excellent service, and scrumptious food made this day truly unforgettable. From the moment we approached Patty, the owner, she showed immense understanding and kindness, immediately putting us at ease with the challenging time crunch we were facing. Without any hesitation, she graciously allowed us to use their property outside of the restaurant for the ceremony. It was the perfect picturesque setting that my sister had always dreamed of. Carlos, the manager, deserves a special mention for going above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Even though they had never hosted a wedding before, he and his team handled the event with absolute professionalism and attention to detail. They worked tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly, and we couldn't be more grateful for their efforts. The catering service they provided for the appetizers, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres was nothing short of perfection. The presentation was elegant, and the food itself was simply divine. Our family was delighted with the delectable treats, and the patio setting added to the overall charm of the occasion. I must say, I was initially a bit skeptical about hosting a wedding event at a restaurant that hadn't done it before, but Captain's Anchorage exceeded all expectations. Their capabilities are exceptional, and they pulled off the wedding event flawlessly. I highly recommend this pristine venue for anyone looking to hold a special event, particularly a wedding. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Patty, Carlos, and the entire staff at Captain's Anchorage for making this day so incredibly special for my sister and our entire family. Your dedication and warmth will forever be cherished, and I wouldn't hesitate to choose this venue again for future events. Thank you for making my sister's wedding...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow! My husband and I recently had our second visit to Captains Anchorage and I just had to finally write a review. The dinners we have had, the stellar service, and the unique atmosphere makes this one of my all time favorite restaurants... ever!
Listen up, people: the 16oz prime rib dinner is simply out of this world!! Honestly, this is the best prime rib my husband and I have ever had and the price is extremely reasonable. My husband orders his medium rare and I, medium. They were cooked to perfection. The baked potatoes are slow cooked for hours as well and they tasted amazing! You get a little basket of toppings to dress your potato how you like which I really appreciate.
The salad bar is extremely fresh and delicious with a large assortment of toppings and wonderful dressings. And the soups, oh the soups! They are made onsite and are truly superb! Their classic clam chowder is thick and creamy. I am a huge fan of their ham and bean personally.
The atmosphere and history of this restaurant is super cool. You feel closed off from the world and as if you are on a boat. The lighting is dim and romantic. I love the upstairs seating and the slanted floors and tables... it gives this place SO much character! Don't complain! This is a small price to experience such history.
The drinks are great too. I ordered the mule and it was good and strong ;) Then there is the desert menu... the cheesecake and the brownie sundae are delicious!
I could go on and on :) But I need to say, the waitresses we had upstairs were lively and fun. I spilled my water and they were so friendly and cool about it. We felt well taken care of and had to give props to the chefs when the manager/owner walked by. It seems the chefs have both been with the restaurant for decades and they make the soups too!
Try this place!! It is well worth it! We can't wait...

The Chicken was rubbery and the mushrooms & peppers that were in the unseasoned white cream over it were equally raw as in the other dish⦠Anyhow we couldnāt digest even a few first bites of our order when we tasted it⦠We ended up paying 15$ for those 2 plates of ?salad? (that actually come complimentary when you order an entreeā¦) because we ate them. I had never tasted worse prepared & flavored dinner in an restaurant with that price level⦠Ended up rather starving till the first fast food chain (the last given option we hoped for) on our way back to LA⦠Oh and on our way out we noticed how unclean interior seemed on both floors, when we came in we were to hungry, ready for some good food to notice⦠Usually we are not as picky eaters as this comment makes us seem, but honestly you couldnāt tell the difference in the taste of Chicken or that...
