Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo — Local services in Big Bear Lake

Maybe it's because I was there just after lunch time or because it was hot, but we only saw about 5 animals. Allot of the enclosures were empty and full of weeds and tree branches. The animals all looked like they could use a good brush or grooming, their fur was very matted and dirty looking. I understand they are wild animals but I feel that the zoo staff could be better about the well-being and appearance of them. If I go again, I'd go during a cooler time of day.
