Lisa's Sandwich Den — Restaurant in Billings

I was very disappointed after seeing all of the great reviews for this place as I was craving a soup and sandwich combo and Billings doesn't have a lot of decent options (apparently) these days in the downtown area. When I went in to get a half sandwich and soup I was surprised to find that it was going to be $9 for a half sandwich, and $4.50 for a cup of soup. So I opted for just a half sandwich because I wasn't expecting such a large price tag for each item/no combo deal. I then received my half sandwich and was shocked to find that the sandwich was the size and quality of one you'd get at a highschool cafeteria. The bread was something from a loaf you'd buy at Albertsons on sale, cut in half, filled with dry turkey and what I can only assume was avocado from a pouch. I'm only giving two stars because the lady who helped me was very nice, but for that price this should not be what people are getting. I know things are getting more expensive and we should support local, but this is just not worth it on any level and we will not...

I had to help the Yellowstone County Museum place a last minute catering order for an important lunch meeting on Tuesday at 1130. Started sending calls in the late hours of the evening on Monday to the early hours in the morning on Tuesday at 730 hoping to catch a morning food prep worker so I could get this order to them ASAP. The owners husband called me back an hour later, and while on the phone I came to learn they had three employees quit on them at the same time as well as Lisa had a close family member pass unexpectedly on Monday, (my deepest condolences 🙏). And even though this news made me feel at first as if this order was now going to be a painful bother for them they never once made it seem so and rocked it with stellar service and wonderfully made sandwiches. I went in yesterday for the first time yesterday to get some soup since I hadn't been feeling good. I was given a menu and placed my order with the lady with glasses. The total was 12.75 and I paid right there. instead of waiting in the store for my order, I decided to wait in my car since I'm sick. I send my brother back in to grab my order and both ladies working insisted I hadn't paid (really?! I was just in there ten mins ago and handed you a $20 bill). so I go back in there myself. Once again told I hadn't paid and it wasn't until I started getting kind of worked up about it that I was finally given the food I ALREADY PAID FOR.
